I ran a little test over the course of 2 months to test out the impacts of affiliate links. I had a site that was stuck on the 2nd page for quite some time and was very stubborn. Upon removing the amazon affiliate short links, the site was ranking on the first page. After a month of being ranked on the first page, I decided to add my affiliate links and now the sites back on page 2.

It looks to me that big G hates affiliate links. Any way of getting around this? My links are no follow and i was thinking of cloaking my amazon short links with bit.ly however, I've heard its against the rules for amazon's affiliate program. Thoughts?

1500 words with 5 affiliate links in a "top 5 type article" or 800 words with 1 affiliate link in a "product review article".

Probably just a coincident since my experience say aff links dosen't affect rankings at all. In moderation that is.
