I created this thread in hopes of spurring discussion on the future of gold farming. I'm not so much interested in your techniques and/or programs in terms of farming gold for profit, as I am in the markets/games in general. Over the past several years we've seen some great opportunities come and go. Most of us will certainly relate to Runescape in its heyday. While there is still tons of opportunity to make money farming gold in RS (especially RS07), its common knowledge that the to really break into a market and make some serious buck, you need to get in early. World of Warcraft recently seen the banishment of thousands of bot networks, which begs to question, does this open the door to new gold farmers or is th game already over-saturated?

Basically I'm asking what relatively new games do you think may have the potential for gold farming? We're all a community here, and there are multiple ideas floating around freely to be taken advantage of, for those willing to work for it.. So I hope I'm not over-stepping my bounds by outright asking for opinions. I've just recently started doing some research.. Wakfu and Albion online seem profitable, but as I am unfamiliar with either, its to be seen if the effort is worth the possible reward. I'll be researching on this the rest of the night. Suggestions and conversation most definitely appreciated.

Glad you like Wakfu, hard to code since its tactical and color based, basically a final fantasy type game where you easily take care of the environment, politics and economies with full fledged alignment systems that make it very hard to bot unless you spam its auto talking or hpactually find an easy way to automate or milk its vast opportunity.

The auction house could always be an option though it's not hard to buyout everything as it's systematic style is not reliant on the trade, but of group style play.

I've exactly delved too deep into Wakfu yet, but your overview has definitely been helpful. I suppose one of the main factors for any gold farmer is the system requirements and the capabilities of one's machine/'s. Wakfu definitely has lower requirements than so other more graphically inclined games.

ArcheAge looks as though it would be an enjoyable gold farming experience, if not actually playing the game. I still goldfarm runescape, but I dont use bots.. I use a macro recorder and two very specific methods that haven't completely been overused. They've actually faded from memory a bit. But, only being able to macro three accounts currently, I'm not turning as much profit as I need to start scaling up. I definitely want to pursue gold farming as a source of passive income as I can continue to invest in more hardware throughout the rest of this year.

Back before Runescape, I did a tad bit of botting on Tibia, which has really low system requirements. But the profitability was really dependent on server (not unlike other games), as supply/demand varied.

I currently run a facebook group for account selling of an ios games that currently has 500 real/unique members who post regularly everyday. And they are selling these accounts for upwards of $1000... for an ios game!!! Though most high quality accounts can range from $150-$400.. I did make a small amount of money selling my accounts on two devices, but that was after nearly 9 months investment each.. nice profit, but far from regular income.. and game updates can change those numbers at anytime.
