    Hey guys,

I'd like to inform you that on this Wednesday, May 6th, the European Parliament will be voting on the Telecoms package. This is the final vote.

This package of amendments will to some extent force, and allow internet service providers to place restrictions, limits and conditions on the use of the internet. This effects all countries within the European Union, also the UK, and the outcome will probably affect similar legislation being passed in Canada, Australia and the United States.

Check this video for more information:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2T-SBdtWEjI

Basicly, if there are any Europeans here, TAKE SOME FRICKIN' ACTION GUYS! Call or email your Members of European Parliament. Tell them to vote against any and all amendments that restrict, limit or put conditions on the internet. Any amendments that allow the internet service providers to tinker with your connection.

Lists with contact information can be found here:
    http://www.laquadrature.net/wiki/MEPs_by_country

If you're out of inspiration or too lazy to come up with a personal message, you can copy this one:
    http://nopaste.org/p/aPpOyhkmib

As for anyone outside the European Union, you can support this effort by using any resources you can spare to spread this message and the YouTube video I pasted above.

Any help in this will be hugely appreciated, and you're probably helping yourself aswell, even if you're not from Europe!

And this is URGENT, LESS THAN 48 HOURS TO GO!

    ACTION TIME BABY!

    Thanks.

Contacting your MEP (whoever the fuck that might be, as if I care anyway) is no use as they haven't changed a bloody thing yet that their masters (whoever they really are as well) wanted to push through. I am sick of that bunch of overpaid pigs with their snouts in the EU trough. All us Europeans should work together but being ruled by the EU commissars is not the way to go about it.

I agree with some of you. Personally I'd like to see the European Union dismantled, leaving only the EFTA and the Schengen agreement in place to make commerce easier.

But the fact is that it's here for the time being and we should do everything we can to secure our rights, untill there's enough support to take it all down.

Here's a live broadcast of the debate about the Telecoms Package at the Parliament. Many of the speakers have been talking about the emails they've been receiving, so it seems to have had an effect:
    http://www.europarl.europa.eu/wps-europarl-internet/frd/live/live-video?language=en

Oh yeah, and if you still want to contact them, please send PERSONAL EMAILS or give them a call. They've received hundreds of similar emails which some of them say has been a bit annoying, lol.

    Cheers.

    Troll.

They are really voting on the Telecoms Package at the European Parliament, and it does contain amendments which allow the internet service providers to do whatever they want with our (europeans) internet connections.

The guy in the video is NOT "Athene", he is a friend of Athene and only used his channel as a medium to spread this message because the channel gets so many views and has tons of subscribers. I personally know the guy, this is not a fucking joke.

Yeah, I've realized now but I thought it was a joke because the guy's channel makes up a lot of bullshit. Nevertheless this cannot happen, there are too many people and if it does happen why do we have BHW here? It's all about BHW, with so many people and tactics we should easily be able to strike against this.

What's up with this net neutrality BS? If all internet provider companies decide to support "packages", there will be one that will have "regular internet" and everyone will switch to that company anyway, making the others go bankrupt. They won't do anything to the internet. This is just hype.

Yeah I agree with this one, I was just going to say that this is all bullshit like I said before because even if this comes into reality then there will be one ISP that will allow everything and everyone will just move in with them. LMAO.

MEP's are elected so I doubt they would want to go against the people who are voting for them...

I don't know about you, but I love my freedom. And freedom is choice. If there's only one decent ISP, then there's no choice. I'd rather have 10 decent ISPs to choose from.
