It seems that, in order to have an IM blog, it is required that you read these four books.

    1. "Millionaire Fastlane? by MJ DeMarco
    2. "The $100 Startup" by Chris Guillebeau
    3. "Crush It!" by Gary Vaynerchuck
    4. "The 4-Hour Workweek by Timothy Ferriss"

Because they seem to be on literally EVERY marketing website in the world.

So i've read 4-hour Work Week (of course).

Half way done with Millionaire Fastlane too.

The others have been on my list for a while.

Anyway, any commentary or input you guys got on the first three would be very appreciated.

And if you want to mention other books, that'd be great too.

    Thanks!

4 hour work week? Sounds like one of those hyped up "guru" books. I'd leave that well alone just because of its title.

The only book i've read about IM is adwords for dummies, and i thought it was shit, so i don't read them any more.

Woops... I have read none of them.

I have read the Lord of the Rings trilogy though, that's got to count for something...It was pretty long...

If you're talking about the "Art of War" - then yes, truly an amazing book.

Art of war is one of my favorites.

The rest of these books are just overhyped "guru" stuff that everyone knows.

They just make them sound like the last rocketscience -.-

    Duh waste of time

i'm a big reader. i've read all four. They are all great books, and definitely deserve to be in the top 10 of any IM's reading collection. What i have found is that books offer a bit of a road map for Internet Marketing, however none offer the Holy Grail in which most lazy people are in search for. Success requires Action, along with mistakes, and never ending challenges. It is up to you to take resources such as those books and find YOUR way. YOU have something unique to offer that no one else does. Good Reading!!

Seriously guys, 4 HOUR WORKWEEK?!!?! This is one of the worst ebooks ever, Feriis = little scammer. He is at the same lvl as WSO's. The $100 Startup is the only one which is worth an effort.

Crush it, just talks about making blogs on your passions, or making videos literally anything about what you love. Not a bad book though.

That's pretty much the worst book list you could come up with as an IMer. Those books are designed to pander to the masses who are tired of their day jobs and want to hit it rich with no work in the interim. It's "gurus" taking advantage of people too stupid to know any better.

Art of War is a good book, also there is some 'modern' version of it - accumulated to these days routines and situations.

How to win friends and influence people is also the one that is needed to be read.

I also would add BODY LANGUAGE (1988) by Allan Pease.

And last one that i've enjoyed reading - „V" The Mafia Manager, A Guide to the Corporate Machiavelli.

I have only read the millionaire fast lane and I stopped about half way through and skipped a lot of the half baked metaphors in there. The book is okay to get you in the right mindset, it gets you excited at the possibilities BUT you easily fall into the trap of just thinking and thinking about it. When you actually attempt anything it's all useless, it comes down to what you can do and what you want to do.

I know this is going to sound repetitive but just skip some of the self help stuff and just do it. Do it again and again and again. IM can only be learnt through hands on experience, the sooner you start the sooner you'll learn.
