The start of World War 3 has begun! North Korea took the first step by attacking South Korea, if it attacks again , South Korea threatened with an attack back, which will cause huge problems, many will join South Korea, some North Korea, which will cause WW3, and we know what nuclear bombs can do to the world, 3-5 can turn the whole Asia to dust and ash.

From what I have read N.Korea is at fault but I believe S.Korea should respond in a peaceful manner asking for reason's why this happen and possibly saving tens of thousands of lives.

What will attacking each other solve? Just more division between the two countries.

Only reason I think S.Korea should got to war is if N.Korea goes on a full blown attack on them, they have a right to protect there citizens and country.

    My opinion.

i guess this kind of war won't happen again. PBB are exist even they...just...c...bunch of...s..o..b..
what i think is the war kind of economical war. who dominate the market won, who supply money to another country have more influence, just like Japan who give lot of money to US. therefore japanese product easily dominate US market. etc..etc..

I think they should fight it out on Nintendo Wii, but failing that....

Well we are well overdue a world War, c'mon its been 70 years!

It will get rid of all the bad blood that has been festering for the greater part of a century.

And also there has always been a significant spurt in technology following a WW. The world will be a much better place, well, apart from all the deaths of course...

    Full of fail.

As stated above NK likes to flex its military muscle from time to time. They are pushing the world's buttons, trying to get our attention and watching our reactions. The guys in charge there know exactly what fate awaits them if they push to hard.

World War 3?? If things really did heat up you actually think China and Russia would back NK and draw themselves into shooting war with NATO??? China will put pressure on NK like it always has and things will settle down.

I'm pretty sure that it would take more then 5 nuclear weapons to turn all 148 million sq. km of the continent of ASIA into a glass parking lot..

Really? Which Western leader has the will to nuke NK? Reagan is dead and Thatcher is on a ventilator half the day.

The North Koreans are probing. They pretended to go along with us on nukes and then popped a couple in tests to see what we'd do. Nothing.

Then they torpedoed a South Korean warship and waited to see what would happen.

    Again, nothing.

Now they are shelling a disputed island and waiting for a reaction. Oh shizzle, they are being strongly condemned! Hide the children!

They are playing this out on a time scale that is far longer than ours. An American president lasts 8 years tops, the expected tenure of a communist dictator is many times that.

I never said that any western leader would have the will to nuke anyone. If the west wanted to take these assholes out, they could accomplish everything they wanted with conventional hyperwar (which they have show the will to use time and time again).

China has influence on NK and they don't want their part of the world destabilized any less then the south koreans do. I really hope I am NOT wrong, but I don't see anything to indicate that NK is going to wage total war against south korea. That's not what their leaders want, they want to stay in power as long as they can and they are using this as a way to further that goal.

I agree with you that the west's response to these thugs antics has always been rather weak, but what would you have them do?

World war 3 is just a name.If all 196 countries started a war, then we can called it world war.Otherwise, we should call it nk vs sk war or russia vs china war.Not world war.

hump..politics..China maybe will back up NK, and then US will only condemn them :p, condemn all you want says NK leader.. China play a significant role here. Please remember that China have the biggest reserve in USD. If they ever want to change it to Euro like Iran did, tell me about it, US can in big danger ( economic ), and yes I guess US cannot be defeat in a war, but with economic disaster...it really can IMHO. nah..let's blasting the backlink again..man..need an elite proxy that change every month, anyone know which company sell this kind of service? thx

You guys still believe what you see on TV. I would think that after the Gulf of Tonkin, The Northwood documents, Reichtag and the clear demolition of building #7 you would be hesitant to buy into this garbage. While purveyors of Nero's fires, the inquisition, and slavery by right of manifest destiny can be forgiven for lack of access to information - you cannot.

Not let them get nukes in the first place. Oh well..

This is how these things work, we let them get away with crap until they've gone far enough that we have no good option, then they take it too far, expecting nothing will happen to them and then we have to enter the game late and many more are killed than would have been if we'd shown strength at the outset.

They don't understand the West and we don't understand them. What we see as reasonable accommodation and deference they see as weakness.

The Korean War came about because they thought we wouldn't retaliate. We have to show them that we will or they will continue to push.

This is a short-term and short-sighted attempt to prop up the dollar, as the RAND Corporation recommended two years ago that the US needed to engage in a new major war to stimulate the economy. China told Bernanke to cease and desist its lax monetary policies, and China is dealing directly with Russia without US/EU currencies. The US doesn't like it, so it's sticking it to China by provocateuring a conflict with its client state of N Korea.

The US (Bush/Cheney) gave N Korea the nuclear weapons technology through the AQ Khan weapons trading network years ago. The whole point was to forment tensions to the point where another flashpoint could be manufactured, through which the US military machine could ride in and look like the saviors. The fired upon territory in question is disputed, with only S Korea claiming it to be within their borders. Look beyond the shallow neo-conman analysis and study the deep politics behind the news:

Sometimes I really don't understand these things. I mean, I would usually say that Kim Jong Il needs to get laid because he seems to be quite frustrated but he runs the country, he will have hot korean babes licking his toes 24/7. So that's why I don't understand it. Maybe it's because at his ripe old age he has become tired of the same race of girls, since there are pretty much no blondes or caucasian girls in NK period, he might become frustrated at that and want to take over the world or at least make it as far as Russia where there are some hot yellow haired girls.

I really hope there isn't a WW3 because I have come to take peace for granted in my home town. I don't know what the f*k I would do without internet let alone no basic food or safety.

Why would the US give nukes to NK? I know all these conspiracy theories have some fact in them, but really, what's the difference between giving nukes to NK and giving them to Iran? The 'evil' men in the US government also have children in the US, and surely they wouldn't want their kids to grow up in a nuked out world where babies are born with third elbows sticking out of their mouths. After all, a nuke would PWN everyone, rich or poor, unless you are very lucky. Even if you are mega rich and have a super shelter, where are you supposed to go on holiday? No more spas or country clubs because the the closest thing to a country club will be a place with just a few REMs less than chernobyl. Paradise!
