I wonder what share of RapidShare's business is from users committing piracy? Hopefully they thought this through. lol

    Well you canĀ“t blame them...
They are trying to run a business and they always need to fear the threat of getting "busted".
Right step for the business. The right step for piracy aswell? Yes and no. Piracy will adapt, always.

You realize, that they didnt handcuffed them and busted them?

Rapidshare is a swiss organization, DMCA has no meaning here, since we did not and i repeat WE DID NOT ACCEPT THAT CRAP.
Also RS (RapidShare) is agains any kind of uploading pirated stuff and have a DMCA contact board.

They clean their server often and dont host pirated files after they have been notified.

RS, fileserve, megaupload, uploaded, mediafire - all these would not exist if it wasn't for the warez/pirate scene. Their business is completely reliant on it.

"Also RS (RapidShare) is agains any kind of uploading pirated stuff"

Sure *whistles*. Anyway, I hope RS come out alive - personally my favourite of the bunch.

*Cough*, thats their official statement, sure the warez scene helped them and is still helping them alot, but i dont think that RS will ever bow and fail, because they are legally coverd.

I support piracy. I have learnt SO much thanks to the hackers and crackers of pirate software/music/tv shows/films etc.

There are a whole load of new file sharing websites that don;t require waiting like MF and RS.
