I don't know if it has been posted already, but I stumbled on this article where Youtube is taking action against spamlinks in videocomments. As stated in the article the uploader gains control over the comments, in particular links with hashtags or spamlinks. With a new setting users can send these kind of comments to the held-for-review que and moderate the comments before they're published.

    Here's the link: https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/youtube/rOmkoXnmQn0

    Have a nice day.

I don't know about the end of spam, but surely it'll be the end of criticism or comments that displease the uploader.

I believe it. I knew it was just a matter of time. I see videos in the top trending section loaded with links from spammers sometimes, so I knew YouTube had to be aware of it and would start taking action on it. Remember how hard it was to get a comment to stick back when YT was integrated with Google Plus?...I bet they go back to a comment algorithm similar to that soon

I was dropping links in comment sections for awhile with the t.co and G+ method, but gave up because too many were getting ghosted or flagged as spam. If your website ranks #1 for its own brand name just mention the name of your site instead of dropping a link or using commas instead of periods. People will Google it and as long as the comments are unique most will stick

Heyyy Hugh Mungus! Funny seeing you here

I love H3H3. Usually channels that big would manually go through and remove all spam so the top comments are relative to the video...I think they've just had so many videos demonetized to the point where they don't even care anymore tbh

True, they really have stopped trying. They are aware of it, but whats the point if they barely make any money? Lol. I know idubbbz doesnt give a damn and keeps saying the n word in most his videos
