My .dot.com.au site, a site that i never backlink too because it holds the #1 - 3 position for years is now on page 3. WTF! You guys talk about backlinks, i haven but 45 and those have been there for a couple of years. No blackhat shit, no gsa nothing. Gone from position 1 - 3, yet the spammy YT video is in position 1. Howcome? Howcome YT videos are not affected? They are spammed to shit usually yet they hold strong. This is utter bullshit. I hope matt cunts is viewing these threads like i know he is, masturbating with excitement!

Just like the OP said, i have GAnalystics installed. Time to remove that shit!

If you could ranked site once, you'll do it again, so instead of whining around about your sites getting hit by a new google update go and develop a new web site and rank it again. Some of my sites got hit, some did not, it's simply the game, there is no exact parameters nor function how and what is google affecting, so everything you read here are simply personal experiences from individuals and they vary from one to another.

Simply forgot about your killed sites and put your effort into creating new one and keep in mind that google can track all of your sites at once, so be careful what you put on your site and how do you spread them.

    Check http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/black-hat-seo/711703-penguin-3-0-released-couple-hours-ago-6.html#post7308678.

User experience is far, far above links nowadays - at least from my experience. You can have the best links, but if the visitors coming from the SERPS or even better, from the backlink itself don't like your site - it's fairly sure you're going to get hit. A good site is all Google wants to offer its visitors.

I'm not sure if un-installing Analytics is a wise move, since it holds the data you'll need to improve your site if it isn't working for your visitors as it should (pageviews, bounce rate, etc).

Must say that this is just my experience, but it makes sense to me.

As I stated before, I think the updates will focus more and more on user experience. Now ask yourself if you'd like a content/social locker...

There's your answer. Lockers are by far the most unfriendly thing and I think they deserve to be thrown out of the SERPS.

Good content will get shared naturally, bad content obviously needs to be pushed in the form of lockers. Simple stuff.

I thought I'd chime in and say that a few clients site that I'm ranking with GSA SER are doing fine. I've done manual web 2.0 creation backed up with 100-500 contextual d0follow links, and spam blasted with 1000-5000 links (I keep it with a 1:10 ratio, or I try to, at least).

Well I gained a few ranks on one of my new sites, but it's hard to say whether it's because of this or whether it was just because the site is new. Also the gain on the site is marginal, it moved from something like 82 to 75, nothing to celebrate.

The GSA stuff is interesting - we know that Google is able to identify what CMS a site (at least for Wordpress, Joomla and popular forum software like PHPBB, VB, IPB, SMF). If they're able to tell that, they likely can connect the dots and see whether a site has a high saturation of backlinks from specific CMS - which could be an indication that they're link blasting.

For example if your backlink profile has about 70% backlinks from forum and guestbooks, it would be reasonable to sense something is afoot. I don't think it's the end of link blasting, but this coupled with the death of Pagerank (it hasn't been updated in almost a year) gives me the impressions that they're moving the algorithm to something else - possibly social? (but even that can be easily gamed).

Established local BBB accredited 50 year running business wiped off the face of the earth. In it's place are three new Houzz listings in a row. Google is terraforming the internet for their profit. Give it 30-90 days and I bet we see a massive Google Ventures investment in Houzz.

Why more people and business owners are not calling for Google to be broken up is beyond me. Legit businesses are being shut out of the digital economy by a company's greed that knows no boundaries.

I like that analysis and the term you used. Terraforming is what they're doing to the WWW.

Well my main keyword jump to #3 from #9. I guess my competitor got hit by ebola but my site didn't. The only reason my GSA didn't get hit is my own Verified Contextual links(Just thought).

I'm noticing this issue on software built links as well. Is there any way to prevent this? All articles I put in GSA are published on very easily recognizable platforms, which of course is as bad as it can get.

Very good points! I always had the feeling with updates that there must be a big random factor so that the blackhatters dont know exactly which ranking factors were changed or punished. Its like your example with poker, if you bet only your strong hands (punishing sites that used GSA , SAPE or whatever) , your opponents know the strenght of your hand and adopt to it. You have to throw some bluffs in there (punishing certain % white hat sites, letting certain % spam sites alive or even improve their rankings) so that you become unreadable.

This is complete bullshit. If used wise GS still rocks. I have a site that is only getting GSA and sape. Guess what? It went up like crazy in Penguin 3.0.

Finally Page 1 for a 60k exact match keyword. Thats crazy isnt it?

Fuck Google and fuck Matt Cutts. Yes, a lot of sites that have been hit are BH, but the normal, whitehat sites shouldn't have been hit. As others have mentioned, it's all about fucking Adwords sales now. I actually made a hub on this and it wasn't featured (I wonder why), even though my other hubs are.

Regardless, it may now be time to move onto Yahoo/Bing in terms of promotion to really hurt Google. Thankfully I've been really successful ranking a site in Bing by throwing blog comments at the site.

SolveMyMaze is correct, Google's very recent financial report showed a drop in revenue so maybe they released this update to force more peeps to use Adword$. Its early days and lets see how it looks in a week. My sites unaffected across the board, even one that I thought was goosed for sure has improved and that has had a considerable number of GSA blasts on it.

    Immediate solution:
    1. Get a virtual cc
    2. Create a Bing ad account
    3. Get a $75 voucher
    4. Add yer site ;)

    My 10c worth

    - Edit IMO in time Google may possible price themselves out the market and be looked upon as a dictator of the web, not surprisingly the EU is currently talking hard ball with them and its my hope they get hit big.
