    Who I am:

19 year old from the UK, working full time for an IT company in a dull town for not much money. Got much bigger dreams!

I made a decent part time income from IM throughout school and it even paid for an awesome holiday all around Europe last summer but I wasn't making a full time living so had to get a 9 to 5(.30) when I left school.

    What I've done:

I've been doing various IM things since I was 16 and had a bit of success making part time money.

I started off dropselling CDs on ebay which was really easy and lucrative until my method became obselete.

I then moved to buying concert tickets and selling them on ebay which was good too but a lot more risky and more of a gamble. Ebay then banned selling tickets.

I've got an music blog "authority site" that gets X,XXX visitors a day and I occasionally get paid for sponsored articles.

I was making £300/month at one point from adsense on youtube until my main channel got banned. This doesn't really work anymore as if you get one copyright strike, your adsense account gets disabled for 6 months and my method used copyrighted content.

I've got a legit youtube channel though with my own original videos that makes a bit of money. It's mainly interviews with singers and rappers that I film for my music blog.

I made at least £1000 brokering links for big Bingo sites between an SEO company and music blogs which was really easy and lucrative until the SEO company closed down.

    What I want to do:

My main goal right is to be able to live from my IM earnings by the end of 2014.

Over the next couple of years, I want to be financially self sufficient, start living life to the fullest, run successful business(es), see the world, live in different countries and hopefully meet a lot of you guys - it's very inspiring talking to business minded people!

Instead of "methods" which eventually die, I want to start timeless businesses that people pay real money for a real product or service.

Ideally, people will pay a monthly fee for instead of a one off fee so as to create residual income but that's not my #1 priority when coming up with a business idea.

I will focus on one idea at a time and hopefully make it a success!

    What this thread is for:

To document my thoughts and progress, trade ideas and stay inspired! Hopefully I can look back at this in a years' time knowing that everything went so right.

    My first business:

Alongside maintaining my music blog authority site, my first new site that I will be creating is a digital agency reselling people's services. I will either make it as broad as possible or target it to a certain industry, I haven't decided yet.

If you have a talent or a quality service, hit me up and I might be interested in working with you to make us both some money!

    Lets get to the paper...

    Thanks!

Got back yesterday from a short holiday to Krakow. Really amazing city, had an amazing time and really motivated me a lot to make that my life - work from the internet and just go to awesome places whenever I feel like it.

The hard work starts again today.

I made $100 writing and a sponsored post for my music blog and will upload a couple of adsense videos to youtube later. Anyone got any other ideas of how I can monetize videos in the hip-hop music niche aside from adsense?

Just been issued $515 from adsense and found an awesome new theme for my music blog which costs $45. Will buy it and make some modifications over the weekend. Can anyone recommend me any awesome logo designers?

Depending on where the theme is from I can probably get it for you for free. If you PM me a link to it I'll see what I can do.

I definitely urge you to start monetising those x,xxx visitors too. It seems such a shame to waste that traffic.

    Thanks, so am I!

    Thanks, will PM you now.

Once I've done my redesign, I'm definitely going to try and focus on making some good money from it.

I'm thinking perhaps set up a simple site reselling youtube views, soundcloud plays etc and having that in all the advertising space on the music blog which could be popular because I think a lot of the readers are wannabe rappers etc. Would love to hear any other suggestions though!

Thanks, I definitely won't. I think what's kind of different about my journey is I started doing IM before I knew IM even existed and did it quite well for how little I knew (ie I didn't know what SEO was until I found BHW and the first time I read on here about pagerank, I checked to see what my site was and it was a 3 already) so I'm kinda doing it backwards. What I really want now is to do some more "method" type things that the other journeys are like with a bit more of a genuine, sustainable twist to start making some real consistent money.

PS I bought your twitter bot a while ago and used it for a couple of months after TweetAdder died :)

    Cheers! Definitely will do :)

Just bought the domain for an agency site I'll be starting, providing and reselling various services. It cost $17.

The .com or .net for my site's name was not available though so I got a .al, because the last word in its name is "digital". So the domain is _____digit.al

.al is Albiania, is this a bad idea for SEO and means I'll only rank in Albania? Should I get a .com or .net with a less desirable name instead or would .al be ok? Thanks!

It won't make it impossible to rank but it will definitely be more difficult than a .com would be.

Made a nice quick $108 profit today buying 4 concert tickets and reselling them on a ticket reselling website - my second ever successful IM method so nice to do it again! It's not particularly scalable though as it's so hit and miss, hence why I haven't done it in at least a year until now.

I've had quite a few ideas that aren't amazing but should work to an extent swimming around in my head for a while and came to a bit of a realisation today - it's probably easier to make 5 sites making $20/day than 1 site making $100/day. I'm gonna get to work with starting 2 or 3 new sites and will let you know how they're going!

I was talking to a developer yesterday too who's selling the framework for a site for $2499 that I'm interested in. That's a massive investment for me (nearly half the money I have to my name) but could be worth it in the long term. I'm giving it a demo and assuming it's working fine, I'm about 50/50 as to whether I should buy it. It would be a subscription service that I'd charge $9 or $10 a month to use and would probably need quite regular updates on the backend that I'd probably have to pay for. Anyone got any thoughts on whether I should do it or not?

Finally, if anyone has a service, product, piece of software or skills that people would be willing to part with their cash for, hit me up! Lets make some money together... I might resell your service or even hire you for my own projects

Edit: If you haven't noticed already, I'm only updating this thread each time I make some money (or if people ask me questions). This should make it a lot less cluttered for future reference when I'm rich (lol) and not let it distract me from the $$$. I'm just saying this so you don't think I've abandoned it if I don't post for a while!

Just a quick update for today - made $100 for a sidebar ad on my music blog.

I also spent $6.89 renewing a domain I registered a year ago for a website selling fake youtube views, twitter followers, facebook likes etc. I never actually made the website and I don't think that market is very good to get into now compared to year ago. I'm going to try making the site anyway and then just put it as an advert on my music blog and see if it converts (a lot of the readers are musicians themselves with music videos on youtube etc so might be interested?). Are any of the retention views services safe again yet? I'll need someone to resell the views from. Also, how can I charge with paypal without my personal details being shown or should I use something other than paypal?

Also, I've made an agreement with an SEO guy to teach me his IM and SEO techniques in exchange for me writing him articles. Lets see how this goes. I'm going to write him the first article tonight and he's going to start teaching me on Monday.

I was also talking to a guy on here who will pay good money for me to go on skype to affiliate managers and get him CPA accounts. I considered it because it's good money but it all seems a bit shady and I don't really want to get caught up in the scammy side of the internet.

Finally, the developers who I might be buying the site from for $2499 (which I talked about in the post above this one) said they'd have it finished by next Tuesday! Looking forward to seeing how its looking

    End Of Month Report

At the end of each month, I'll do a report of how much money I made and spent, breaking down exactly how it was made/spent. I'm not that worried if I spend a lot as I'd look at it as an investment to make more money. Saying that, I don't like to spend a lot and like to do as much as I can myself. What I'm worried about is making a lot!

By 2015, I want to be making $1790/month as that's how much I currently earn at my 9to5(.30). Obviously, I'd love for that point to come a lot sooner though!

    Here goes my first report...
    Month 1
    Money made:

    Music blog: $200
    Ticket sales: $108
    Adsense: $515

    Money Made Total: $823

    Money spent:

    Domains: $23.89

    Money Spent Total: $23.89

Got $100 for a sponsored post on my music blog today but paid someone else $20 to write it so made $80.

Haven't been in my house recently at all really so haven't been able to start any of my new ideas.

    Thanks!

Another update for today: just made $40 profit selling 2 concert tickets. I didn't sell them on a ticket selling website this time, I was just on the venue's facebook page and there was a guy looking for tickets on there so I sold them to him directly.

Haven't really had any time to work on my journey over the last week or so because I've been too busy with work for my job but just bought a domain for a internet marketing blog for $4.

I now have 3 unused domains that I need to make sites for:

    - Digital Agency (.al)
    - Social Media Services (.net)
    - IM Blog (.com)

Made $53 today selling another 2 tickets on a ticket selling site. I've decided against shelling out the $1500 on the new site as

I'd rather focus my efforts on cheaper efforts until I'm making an amount where that's not such a big deal to me.

I'm also probably going to get a new logo made for my music blog for $150. Ouch!

I've noticed that I'm not doing everything I'm saying I will so I need to buckle down and start things. Once I've started them, it'll be natural to keep them going...
