IG is getting out of hand and I guess, I'm not the only one who's thinking like that.
So when IG had It's early days, there was Facebook for connecting with friends, YouTube to share videos and some time later Snapchat appeared. The main thing about Instagram and why it was/is so popular, is the idea or sharing photos. A simple idea and an extremely powerful one.
But with the time, IG lost and is losing It's original idea. It was just a matter of time, that options from other social media platforms got implemented. At first you may think "WOW, a new feature", but It's killing the simple idea of sharing photos.
It all started with the Implementation of videos. First they had a length of 10s, now 60s, what about the future? Besides the videos, other things like stories got copied from other SM and let IG appear as a whole new platform, in contrast to some months ago.

The thing is, that many may ask, wheres the problem? The answer is, that the problem is pretty crucial.
It's not about the simple Implementation of videos, it's about the "power" that those videos have and that IG even enables those powers. What am I talking about? Videos do 100x times better, than pictures and that's the point, where IG loses his original idea. When a video on IG hits up to 3Mio views, you're able to gain 25k+ new followers out of it. Even videos with views around 300k views, will enable you a huge amount of growth, which ISNT possible with pictures. Videos with views around 500k+ gain around 50k likes, which is extremely (!) hard to achieve on a picture. Besides that, the growth from a vid with 50k likes is way higher than the growth from a picture with the same amount.
You're still wondering where the problem is? Well, IG has implemented the "channel" option for Videos.. You will find it on the explore page. They listen videos from different categories like fashion, food and shit.
So in conclusion, the benefitation of videos on IG + several new Features will lead to an immense increase of the usage of videos. Besides that, the stories can "hit" explore now, which leads to another option besides pictures.

What I'm trying to say: Instagram is slowly going to die. And that's what happens, when the original idea gets abandoned. The Only thing the IG f** are doing, is to push the new Features like videos or stories to the max, while the original idea, the pictures, lose all of their power. Somehow It's understandable, because you can say 100x more with a video than with a picture, but that's a different story.
Pictures have lost their powers with time. While you gained a huge amount of followers from a viral picture in the past, now a days they dont do shit anymore.

Besides that, IG is going to limit the reach of pages (which already happens with the strike of many accounts), to promote and push their ads. (Just a matter of time) There were also rumours that IG is going to strike accounts, that do copyright infriction, which will totally kill IG.

So yeah. Find your own thoughts about this issue. After some time It's a fact, that Facebook and Suckerberg are killing IG, like they often did in different occasions in the past.. Keep the hate coming, we will talk again in some months or (hopefully) 1-2years. peace :)

The thread is to open the eyes of the IG users. You may say that people will still upload pictures, which is totally true. But as I said, they totally lost their ability. IG gets harder for us people and mostly for those, that want to make money with it. Latest Updates and changes in the algorithm have shown this and the future will lead us to way tougher issues.

Nothings going to last forever. You just have to adapt to the next platform or method or you'll be dead.

In either case, with more and more videos, i think there will be always be a place for images as it requires less mental capacity/energy and watch videos all day long is "tiring".

You are absolutely not open our eyes. From my observation, it is more about the frustration from an Instagram marketing loser's complain. I am telling you the new algorithm is killing lots of ppl like you. However, the Top players are still having fun and making tons of followers and engagement every single day.

From marketing aspect, pics are only attract a segmentation audience. If IG wants to grows, it has to change and enlarge the audience by expanding the sub functionns. But IG would never position it as another YouTube. It will always a pics sharing platform with multiple functions. They are running this app from marketing aspects, which you donot understand. That's why you donot have good accounts because running a good account is just like running a successful marketing campaigne. Followliker and anyother tools can not save you if you donot know marketing, deeply.

i kinda agree with you, OP. IG is slowly repackaging snapchat features, which goes to show that it is sort of losing.

If that happen, take for sure another new social network will replace it. This world is cyclic, did you remember Netscape, now we have Chrome. Did you remember messenger, now we have whatsapp

May be in the future we will say, did you remember Instagram?, now we have XXXXXXX.

BTW, I think they do this changes to offer a better service to their users and their advertisers (clients). Maybe going white hat and pay them ads is a better investment in long term?, what do you think?

You do realise instagram hires people with 6 figures salaries just to anticipate and research/implement new ideas that are lucrative and beneficial to the company right?

Copyright is not new, it has been a problem months ago.
And the reach has already been limited like it happened with facebook pages in 2013+ because they are too many.

So people who have 3 accs over 50 K are those TOP players? Those who have millions would laugh to dead.

You are funny man. :D Talking about "top players" in a forum like bhw, lol. 99% of the IG bhw section doesnt even grow 3k+ a day and you really think you can talk about "top players" on here? And btw. I have never talked about me, or about my status, I clearly stated actual situations. Why are you personally attacking me? I'm frustrated, a loser and using bots to grow. I totally agree on that. And now I'm gonna continue to dream about the "top players" :)

Instagram is the fastest growing social media platform... and I'm pretty sure that celebrities and the top models won't be leaving instagram. As long as the celebrities remain, it'll survive.

I just cannot stand stupid ppl talking shit. Re check how many flaws you have in your post starting from the title. Who you think you are? You are not even the top players you just defined. How could you make a conclusion Instagram is dead? after that, in the articles, there are so many conclusion from you and you think they are all right and want to open our eyes. Even in the reply you gave to me, there are flaws such as "I clearly stated actual situations"... How dare you conclude that it is the actual situation if this is the observation from a IG marketing loser?

Who cares if he's a top player or not? How is that relevant? Someone with 2 million followers doesn't necessarily know anymore than the guy with 20k what the future of IG holds. Regardless, to say he doesn't know what he's talking about because he's not a "top player" would imply that you know he's wrong because he's not a top player. Which would mean you are, to say that he's wrong, would it not? Are YOU a "top player"?

Read my replied more. I did not say people with millions can predict right. do not make up things yourself . But Let me tell you why if he is the top player things would different. If he is a top player, he would not feel so frustrated and post those thousands words here to complain and mislead ppl. Instead, he would be in good mood everyday. It is the loser effect. Do you understand?
