As you're probably aware filesonic just closed it's affiliate program, I had $1200 in unpaid comissions to receive.

My money is gone, I know that much.

But what about now, are there any other filehosts stable to work with now?

I'd hold still right now until things get settled. Fileserve and Filesonic went down in the past day. Maybe try to monetize torrent traffic? I expect a surge in torrent traffic as a result of file host attacks.

Feel your pain man, that's a lot of coin (I only lost a few bucks in my old file serve account).

Damn that's a pretty nice amount of coins to lose. Hope you didn't have plans for that money bro. I wonder what's going to happen to sites like sharecash and all the others popping up lately...

Hmm I agree that this is a bit un stable at the moment. What with megaupload we could be in for a bit of a mix up. All-in-all there seems to be a big shake up with these sort of services.

I suggest not totally abandoning them because they will have a hard time stopping them all and will likely get to a point where they realise they have taken on a bigger task than they thought.

My advice is not to stop but to diversify....

Wait till we have some more stability before building on filehosting sites.

Do you think they can also take down torrent sites? especially piratebay as that is the site I use a lot.

Yeah you have a point. Saying that I don't see why mega upload should have got the force of all this. I mean it was a pirate site but not really THAT intentionally. I mean look at PIRATEbay.

It doesnt even try and cover up the fact of what it is...

Piratebay is located in Sweden, they don't have extradition law with USA or DMCA laws.

I suggest to everyone to request a payout because I bet that every filehosting is down in few weeks ;)

Ah interesting, didn't realize it was located there.

I guess the owner just picked the wrong country to live in then... Seems strange with all the money he had he didn't just go to somewhere like that....

I use uploading. They seem o.k, so I'm not sure if I should cash out yet. :(

You can assume that I earned my income from pirated content, but as far as you know I could be earning it with legitimate content, what matters is that for all sakes, I have lost the job that I did for the last 2 years, and this month I won't be receiving a paycheck.

And it isn't just the lost money, it is the fact that ALL filehosts with affiliate programs are shutting down, the business model that I have learned and worked for so long is dead.

I haven't felt so financially strangled and depressed in a long time!..

If I am not mistaken, If all the file sharing servers are closed, then it will be a major hit to the IM community. And how about torrents, It will be the next target when all the file sharing hosts are done with.....
There wont be any more free stuffs??? :(

uploaded.to is now blocked on U.S. Fileserve closed their affiliate program. Same with videozer and videobb. Filesonic disables file sharing and closed their aff program too.

There will be file sharing sites but they won't have aff. programs and they'll probably check most of uploaded stuff.

They're closing up due to offering monetary incentives to pirate. Mediafire and Rapidshare haven't had any problems as neither of them are saying "get a movie downloaded 1000 times for $40!!!!!!". So, filehosts will come out, not offering monetary incentives to download, and they'll be fine. Paying filehosts had their chance, and they failed. Now we'll just go back to the way we were before they tried; and see the next "big thing" everyone tries.

Ouch. I didn't know that FileSonic was not allowing shared files. I just finished downloading a bunch of IM classes and paying for a membership. Good thing I bought the membership or else I would have not been finished.
