The Dangerous State of Black Hat SEO in 2017!

You are the pro Google side of this debate. By spreading your paranoia and FUD, you bias younger and less experienced members on here against taking action. These are some of the exact same tactics that Google uses to "break our spirits" (http://searchengineland.com/googles...pammers-we-want-to-break-their-spirits-180215).

I will repeat, again, that I don't use gmail or chrome and haven't for years. There are perfectly good alternatives out there, and since there's a non-zero risk it's not worth taking. What I don't do is run around preaching scaryhat seo. You're welcome to continue with it, and I'll just ignore you from now on :)

So I'm totally full of shit and spreading FUD.... but just as a extra precaution you won't be using Gmail and Chrome eh. Mmmmkay.

If any of you are looking for a good Gmail/Yahoo/Live/Hotmail alternative for email I'd suggest GMX. Been using them a while and it is essentially offering the same convenience factor of the big boys, but isn't owned by Google or Microsoft.

Sorry to join the party late, folks.

I don't want to rehash what's already covered by others, so I'm only going to keep it short focusing on what really matters.

a) Top grade content with attention to semantic as well relevance to the overall niche. It pays in terms of SEO if you can afford a blog.

b) Relevant high authority links that don't appear to have been paid for. Example; journalistic outreach, niche manual outreach, PR outreach, 10X blog content. Even while buying outreach focus on the quality of the content and relevance of anchor in the copy.

c) Don't use anything owned by Google. I'm thinking of closing my Gmail account in the near future.

d) Be very selective in terms of selecting domains, content, PBN (it's on Big Gs radar for a long time), spam links, software links, pinging tools. If you are not a BH SEO with a fair bit of knowledge don't touch these seo tools. Instead, get in touch with someone that can help steer your campaign in the right direction.

It doesn't make sense to spend your money on methods that will tank your website to the bottom of the SE. Rather, spend it on someone who knows this game and can help you stay on the first page.

e) Don't be aggressive with link building.

This post hits it on the nail.

It's not about conspiracies or UFO crap, if you're using Gmail and Google Docs or Chrome or *any* of their "free" tools to produce reports, BUYERS should stay away.

Whether you choose to believe the "conspiracy" or not, I've been around long enough to see the most successful link networks and PBNs, some of which sold 5 to 6 figures in links services, get destroyed with laser precision in a single hit and I'm pretty sure it was done using the internal info they had on their "cloud", not via link analysis.

I don't know why we have this aggressive pro-Google group here now, but they sound awfully like other forum brigades we hadn't seen on BHW for a while.

I can confirm they use internal info for these things. The thing that most people aren't aware of is that they really have access to your account and there is a division that can really go over any personal thing you shared. Nothing ever gets removed from gmail, Facebook, and twitter.

The division who has access to these data are typically very small, only them and CEO can have access to such information.

I've been called the conspiracy nut for bringing this up years ago. The correlation is just blatant. They do ID SEOs and they go after them using all their capbilities. If you don't believe it, then keep playing into their game, I'll see you on the next update thread crying "OMG I got fucked".

Do you know how much time it will take to create a network of high quality PBN's which have organic traffic?

4 weeks?

so much for the quality debate...

rather spend the $ on some good content that might rank for a 10 volume /month 10 words phrase, that some weird TF99 RD999 anchor spammend domain

Everything that's working right now:

1. Niche targeted money site Private Influencer Networkers (PINs).
2. Link placements on aged niche-relevant content. (Surprisingly understated)
3. Guest Posts.
4. Editorial Magazine links.
5. Scholarship links from .edu sites. Charity links from .gov sites
6. Personal Private Blog Networks

It's contextual or GTFO in 2017 onwards.

Thank me later, guys.

why does that not suprise me those are also the most $$ ones..

Oh it's a very very real. I have a close friend who worked at two of these companies and through him I witnessed what happens when someone misuse this access inside the company. My friend misused the tool once and was immediately put on a notice. But they didn't sue him or made a drama because making a noise about misconduct will reveal to people that these companies have access which they don't want you to know.

I can also confirm it for email sendin...when send mass bulk emails from many gmail PVA accounts each used with separate IP address they can find out you are a spam based on content.
How would they compare identical messages sent from different gmail accounts linked to private proxies?
I truly believe as soon as you use a private proxy you are automatically upgraded to a higher level of scrutiny. Most people use telecom networks which you can find it's entire list on twilio.com.

We need these former employees from Facebook, Apple and Google to leak their knowledge to Wikileaks or something like that.

I think if there was a leak about the business practices in these companies, that shit would hit the fan on a scale never seen before.

That would be the end of their professional career for good.
If you are a developer in the valley it's a common knowledge. Everyone is almost aware of it. if you read terms of use and privacy you can see it's there and they mention nothing will be removed.

They will need to pull your account if the gov request it. Especially if you have payment/subscription option in your service, it becomes mandatory to save anything and everything forever.

They'd be Snowdens and Assanges, no doubt about that.

I personally wouldn't ever be a whistleblower, cuz I wanna be with family and do my job online.

But some folks have got the activist bug and they can shoot the shit.

All I know is that for SEO, and to take down link networks, Google DOES use war strategies. They take links seriously, it is the heart of their main product.

People who think they don't monitor THEIR OWN data inside their own services for benefit of their search quality team are simply out of touch with how sillicon valley works. It's dog eat dog out there.

I had a website for affiliate product, the domain was 2 months old only built few backlinks using my own list of web 2.0 accounts (aged account -- atleast 2 years). The website ranks top 2 then I decided to use negative SEO for top 1 by blasting spam contextualinks and spammy content, irrelevant anchor tag and such thing. With Google update he become top 1 and I was down to top 4. WTF?! This is so LOL!

There are three things that Google can do:

1. Increase delay of link building effect, so now you will need more time to see the same results;

2. Raise the standards for link building (e.g., PBN with crappy content/spun, and shit design will be less valued or even devalued completely, same for links from X source like the ones you get from GSA)

3. Migrate from links as the primary ranking factor to something else which maintains the same effectiveness.

It's that simple.
I try to understand what you guys are saying but alas i have to admit Most of it goes over my head. PLEASE, let this question be answered by as many peeps as possible, Here is my question/scenario:

We are launching a new product that will certainly go to the top page (bdcause the product name is slightly unique) but more importantly, because there are going to be a lot of backlinking to it due to the fact it's debuting on Kickstarter. (we've done these before)

Question: Is there anything You would suggest or could take advantage of - Knowing a site is going to go from zero/abyss to top page in a couple weeks?

I appreciate any knowledge or suggestions...
to make it clear how noob i am about seo, i'll say this: Does this mean bcuz we will have so much press and buzz "backlinks" (right??) then this means the popular kickstarter page will become an "authority" link? or authority site?
so we should uh maybe... Type our website address into the kickstarter campaign and who knows what else (please suggest), so it is a strong backlink?

lol ahhhh the joys if being a noob. I want to know "kung fu" like you guys.

Much respect to the community... I always love reading these forums.

Speaking of blasts...
We've been researching how to do it:
mailchimp-wouldnt approve cuz we bought a list
ConstantContct-same thing

Now some people are saying:
PowerMTA / smtp, lets warm up the ip by sending some and then blast aftrr 15 days

VS.

Use sendgrid $80/mo for dedicated ip, no worries! blasts are easy

Please could you chime in and shed some light on the subject? which should we do. we only have 16 days until our kickstarter launch date and need to send these 3500 backer list emails we have.

Much appreciated and thank you

Until now I've been very very lucky with no downfalls. But i'm worried, yes I am sir. We need to adapt for new times. It's hard to take and deal Google dances all the time.

Way too much noise, not enough signal. The OP is being distracted by the Google and guru drums of doom ("oooo, they're gonna get the BH guys this time"). E.g., Google has been saying they're about to release a algo change that will neutralize PBNs, for five years! Why are you still falling for it in 2017? The only thing G has done lately is slow down the indexing of many sites/pages (a move that has effected all ranking, both WH and BH), and even that has been hit or miss. And some BHers make things too easy for Google by using their email, Chrome et al properties, making them easy to catch, as above noted.

But G can't really shut down BH SEO, because it conforms to what remains the most critical major ranking factors. Forget a couple of case studies here and there, Backlinko reported a review of a MILLION search results revealing that, no matter what Google says, the two top factors are:

"1. Backlinks remain an extremely important Google ranking factor. We found the number of domains linking to a page correlated with rankings more than any other factor.

2. Our data also shows that a site’s overall link authority (as measured by Ahrefs Domain Rating) strongly correlates with higher rankings."

Quality backlinks and high authority metrics. That's the signal. PBN links, money sites based on expired domains, Web 2.0 properties from high authority domains, etc exactly conform to what most efficiently ranks. Google cannot change this, or change that BH SEO keeps figuring out how to work backlinks and high authority properties.

What G can keep doing is banging its drum of doom, thus making it sound like they are on top of the BH guys or are about to finally slap them down. Those are theatrics, performed because Google's brand depends on the illusion that it is in control, and can make everybody obey their rules. For the rest of us, the BH code remains the same: to heck with the rules, to heck with the gurus, and slap back.
you are right, Man, i've smoked recently a big discussion of WH guru's, who said that "I obey G rules totally... what has he done, bitch, with my website????" The discussion happened after 21 february and longs until now; the main subject is why google drops down their totally white websites and made them such problems. Now you are talking about blackhat seo...., that it's at the edge of the death... i think its not. After penguin2 i was thinking quite the same (a copule of days), but now is 2017. So Don't worry, be happy.

Another thing that seem to be good (because every cloud has its silver lining) - every noob can not have results now, just spending some money in buying links
