    Well, here it is.

I'm hoping this is going to be the start of a long journey. In this journal, I'm going to build my internet business (almost) from the ground up. Let's go over my starting point in this post.

    Background/Knowledge:

I know plenty in the areas of Affiliate Marketing, Bum Marketing, Blogging, Twitter, and others.

I know how e-whoring and CPA work, but I've never actually done them.

I know a bit about MLM. That's what I'm trying my hand at now.

    I can write well.

I have lurked the BHW for a while now, occasionally posting.

    What I'm working with:
    • GDI hosting, domain, and email
    • GDI MLM opp, downline of 0
    • A free eBook I wrote with a giveaway page at 4% conversion (not building list)
    • 5000 safelist mailing recipients/day
    • Some TE hits (having my little bro do some surfing)
    • A downline of 3 at a second, free, in pre-launch MLM
    • A few spare twitter accounts
    • Things from BHW Download Section
    • A DP account and ability to sell eBooks well
    • An adSense account
    • NO CAPITAL.

    Short and Long Term Goals

    1. Get my free eBook ranked for some keywords
    2. Use One Week Marketing (with a twist or two) to promote my GDI feeders
    3. Coach 10-15 people from DP, simultaneously having them sign up in my downline
    4. Work through famous MLM courses like Magnetic Sponsoring
    5. Use affiliate systems like Comission Ritual and Commission Blueprint 2.0
    6. Start a blog about accelerative learning, a hobby of mine
    7. Build a clickbank product around my MLM and get affiliates to promote it
    8. Invest my money wisely
    9. Do my own bookkeeping and pay taxes :O

    My Mindset:

I've been studying the law of attraction for some time, but I never really put it into action. I plan to do that.

    ----

    Beginning Info:

I probably wont do much/anything tonight. Tomorrow I am really busy, but may be able to get something done. Thursday nothing will be done. Expect real work to begin Fri, Sat, Sun.

    That is all.

I will not give up on this journal.

    Any comments are appreciated!

    Ok guyz.

For my first night's post, I thought I'd give you a few more statistics and progress that I've made up to this point. The real work will start either tomorrow or friday.

My main twitter account has 116 followers and I only follow 52 of them. Followers come anywhere from 4-10 per day. I follow one or two of them that seem relevant and non-spammy. Over the life of this twitter account (not long, obviously), I have had 102 clicks on my bit.ly links. (I have only made 11 tweets, so that's decent.) I also began using TweetLater to sent automatic DMs to new followers.

As far as the whole DP/coaching thing goes... 9 or 10 people responded to the initial free mentoring offer. 5 of them responded to my little initial questionnaire. Out of those 5, 2 have completed the first "lesson" and signed up under me at a program called PeopleString. (earnings from this: $1). Out of those 2, one of them is ready to sign up with GDI under me. Seems like it's going ok so far. I can always repost at DP. I just don't want to get any more infractions :(

On the free eBook side of things, 10 people have downloaded the free eBook. Also, 2 more have clicked on the "bonuses" on the page. (these are just other affiliate programs)

As far as other stats, I really haven't checked. Expect more stat checking AFTER there's more action taking!

    A few updates:

As predicted, not much got done tonight. Expect real work to begin friday.

BUT... I did make an unexpected $20 sale from a DP eBook I put up in July. (???)

Also, I got another initial response from DP, invited the guy who bought my eBook, and edged the biggest prospect so far towards joining GDI (I expect that to happen in the next couple days)

As far as learning goes, I grabbed a couple downloads from here and BizTorrents. I am going to decide in a bit what I will use and what I won't bother reading. Then i'll work them into my action plan.

And finally, add one more thing to the list of my goals: Use the OWM twist on EACH of my 27 some profit streams. That's 27-odd weeks of hard marketing. Maybe I'll just condense traffic exchanges into one, that'd save me about 10 of those. So 17 streams? Eh, I'll figure it out. Something like that.

    see yall soon!

GDI is the biggest internet MLM out there- Global Domains International. They sell .ws domains and web hosting. It was, and still is, very big, but it's somewhat of a saturated market. It's not easy, but I bet I could do it.

Good luck pushing GDI... your last comment was spot on when you say it's somewhat of a saturated market... yes it is, and unless you have an awesome system/method for getting a downline, i dont want to say it wont work for you but, it will be damn hard. and the only decent money you will make will be from the $100 bonus per 5 sign ups per week... my outcome in my 2 months promoting it last year was a hell of a lot of work, 0 signups, quit, and move on. but, good luck my man

I don't want to come across as negative, honestly you seem to have the attitude to do well, but I want to address one point.

Everytime I hear someone use the term "The Law of Attraction" I die a little inside.

Used to be that success literature (books, in those days) talked about the issue with titles like "Success through a Positive Mental Attitude", "Think and Grow Rich" and "The Power of Positive Thinking". They all said the same thing, which is that your mental state (positive or negative) can affect your conscious and subconcious mind and make your results change by subtly altering the way in which you go about your work.

That's the key. "your work". They all came at you from the standpoint that success or failure was still all wrapped up in the effort you put into a task. It's about effort, dilligence, willpower and RESPONSIBILITY.

When the publishing world crapped forth the abortion that is "The Secret" and the whole cult of personality around it, the message had changed drastically. They called it the law of attraction, and any sense of personal responsibility was gone.

The best place to see this groupthink is a forum like WarriorForum, I'm sure there are others, but that's where I saw it firsthand. The message of the Law of Attraction, at least as its being interpreted by most people, is the exact opposite of the Positive Thinking crew from the past.

The universe, it turns out, owes you. All you have to do is want it hard enough and you'll get it. I wish, deep down, that this were some snide sarcastic remark, but it's not. You read enough and you realize this is what people truly believe. It's not about the work and the effort anymore, it's not about responsibility to do what's required, it's about wanting it enough. It's about somehow jacking your brain into some cosmic pizza delivery service and ordering what you want.

THE UNIVERSE DOES NOT OWE YOU A FERRARI.

I have no reason to think that you believe that, but the "Law of Attraction" comment worried me.

Positive, constructive attitude is crucial. Negative attitudes can sabotage you. But it's because of how they affect the WORK you do, not because some mystical force is just waiting to have Fedex drop off your giant box of cash.

Any time anyone on BHW asks "Can I make money with... ?" the answer is almost always yes. Those that succeed do so out of an amazing amount of work, and from a belief they could. Those people with four posts and a negative Rep you see in threads calling someone's claims of success "Fucking Lies" are also reaping what they sow.

You're on the right track, you will go far if you're willing to do the WORK. A positive outlook will only strengthen that.

Sorry for the Hijack, I now return you to your thread.

Hey there, thanks for the hijack. I TOTALLY agree with almost everything you say. "The Secret" talks about "Ask, Believe, Receive". Nowhere in that entire stinkin' movie does it mention WORK.

If I sign up for a clickbank account, the universe isn't going to magically make my earnings or hack into clickbank and give me sales. I actually have to DO the work.

I totally agree that the LOA should be used as a motivational tool that changes the way you work and possibly even the outcome. But without that action, there's nothing.

To put it in metaphysics speak, you have to open channels for the money to come to you.

    ----

Anyways, back to the actual journal.

I'm about to begin work and I think it'd be a good idea to lay out some clear goals so I stay on track.

    Here's what I got.

    1. Get all my coaching students up to date (I got another response or two today)
    2. Put up 3 more whitehat craigslist ads (I want to try and see if I get any response before I jump into blackhat cl stuff. I don't want to waste my money.)
    3. Do keyword research for at least 4 keywords related to my eBook and make at least 2 lenses.
    4. Learn more about MySpace MLM marketing and possibly set up a profile
    5. Put up a website with cs for a clickbank product.
    6. Possibly post a few classifieds/free ads
    7. Watch vid 1 of Jeff Johnson's underground traffic course thingy
    8. Read a few more eBooks
    9. Post an MLM invitation link on twitter to test my response rate.
    10. anything else I feel like.

That's a decent amount of work! Check back later today for results.

    Law of Attraction is BS.

What you need is the Law of proper planning an Internet business.

    And the law of action.

Nothing ever came to anyone unless they went out and got it.

Christ, you even have to do something to win the lottery.

Positive thinking is BS. All you need to do is do proper planning and from what i've seen from your plan you aren't doing that.

    Sorry

    Rudy

As for your first statement, i simply disagree. It's fine. I'm not going to rant or anything.

For your second statement, do you have a more specific suggestion instead of just that I'm not planning well? What would you suggest?

    ----

    On to updates.

Over the past 2.5 hours, I've made some pretty decent progress. Here's what I've got done.

    1. Done.
    2. Haven't done it, and done think i will. I rethought it and I thought it was a waste of time. Does anyone advise me to?
    3. Found SIX keywords and made 1 KILLIN' lens. It feeds into a couple aff links.
    7. Watched it. This guy is on top of his stuff! It was just an introduction, but I think i could learn a great amount going through this
    9. I've been hitting a few snags here. Bit.ly marked one of my links as spam. I tried using dwarfURL. I don't seem to be getting any hits on it. That's strange, because usually I can get 15 within an hour. I'll try later in the night, at a busier hour.
    10. I've listened to about 40 minutes of a mark joyner audio.

correct-O! LOA does indeed need action for it to work. notice the word "action" in "Law of attraction".

yes it is indeed BS if you're looking at it in the magical abracadabra hocus-pocus perspective.

uhmmmm...i don't think it would be possible to do proper planning if you're not highly-motivated and pumped up with positivity.

if positive thinking is BS, then...negative thinking is not? kidding aside, the lack of positivity is the reason why alot give up easily in the first place.
