I know the people in the Northern U.S. might make some fun here but to us who live in a arid climate are not ready for this.In the last 2 hrs it has again hit new lows for this part of the U.S. It hit faster than they said we left here to stock up and we left in rain that was hitting our running car and turning to ice.To us here this is the worst kind of weather because our cities are not ready to fix roads or have emergency service.we hope we dont loose power they would take weeks to fix where we live.

Yeah that global warming is affecting Southern Nevada too. Almost have to put a jacket on some days. Usually we don't... :)

Have to that is. we get some days in the 20's (rarely) but for the most part if there isn't a storm coming in from the north we have 60's regularly. today was low 60's but that's just because of the wind.

I love it in the winter but the 120 summers don't feel so great.

I am in Fort Worth and yeah it's colder than normal . . . although over the last 4 or 5 years we have gotten snow pretty much every year. Which used to be odd for Texas . . .

It's 18 degrees as I write this, and the wind chill is -1.

I work at home so my commute was easy this morning, though I did get a bit of a draft in my boxers when I let the dog out this morn ;)

We are south of you, and its actually warmer at your house than ours... its freaking 17F with a -1 wind chill.... WTF??? We have the same kind of commute, although amanda has already fallen this morning outside... Since we live upstairs now, jason went and poured salt on the stairs... The other ice storm that happened just a week ago... The mail lady got stuck in the parking lot, couldn't get out for 3 hrs, even though she spun those little wheels and it sounded like a siren.. LMAO, and she had chains on her tires.. And mysteriously enough, our mail stopped coming at 9 am now...

So for all of you northerners... I knew we would catch shit, but we aren't prepared for this at all.. At this time it would normally be 40-60 and then in march have a little snow... But instead... ICE???? Followed by freezing rain, which causes more ice, and then topped with some snow, so you can't see the ice....

Most homes out here aren't made for this kind of weather.... We are having some blackouts, and if power goes out here where we live, it will be days if not at least a week before it goes back on.... We are in the middle of f u nowhere, which normally is great.. We dont mind the 120F summers.. Amanda tries to tan, but she's so white that all she does is burn, then get white again.... Her words not mine... LOL...

So for all of us texans, this shit sucks! If it had snowed at the alamo, nobody would have died on either side, lol.... :spy: :cowboy: :snowwave:

All I can say, is thank God for 'global warming'. If it wasn't for global warming, many of you would freeze to death!

    DON'T DRINK THE KOOL-AID!

I can't tell you how many feet of snow I shoveled (actually blown but that doesn't sound right) this year in New York. This winter really bites the big one! We finally got a break but now it's low teens at night and twenties during the day. I miss summer!
