The Car Wash Method $1000/Day

THIS IS VERY CRUEL AND BLACKHAT TO SOME OF YOU (but hey look where you're at)


So, I'm sure you've all seen the fundraising car washes on the weekends. I was interested to see how much one of those could make in a day.

I rounded up a crew and started at 8AM on Saturday until 4PM (8 hours) and as well on Sunday from 10PM-5PM (7 hours)

I had them pay $10 and donations for tire shine and quick wax. When the days were over, I counted the money we had made (a team of 6) and we made just over $3,000 in cash for 2 days.

The Method:

Over here, we have Home Depots that are filled with immigrants that will work for $5 and do anything. So just this last weekend, I picked up (5) of them and I had my girlfriend out there to promote it along with some generic signs. We picked a great location.

I had them out for a good 10 hours and I paid them $250 ($5 an hour). They were very happy. They worked from 8AM-6PM and pulled in a little over $1400 along with my girlfriend grabbing about $300 in donations.


The Twist:

You can say this is for a funeral or nothing at all. All people care about is that they get their car wash and you get your money. The workers get paid and everyone is happy. You can also use children if you don't have any cheap workers within reach.

The best day for car washing is a Saturday. Sundays and wednesdays work well. (Weekdays from 4PM-6PM)

Good idea, scale it bigger and you'll have more money. Make like 3-5 teams of 5 people in each, get your trusted friends to be team leaders and do this in bigger scale

this isnt a bad idea at all...the main issue i can see is finding somewhere good to do this. A lot of places will not allow you to use their parking lots unless they have all the details on what it is being done for. BUT...not a bad idea at all. If you know anyone or have any connections with a local business then this works great. haha.

Part of me can't believe we are now discussing "car washes" for real money making ideas..what has this world come to!! haha But hey...why not!?!! it works!

Who said it was begging? How is this different than telling someone they can get a free iphone or gift card for entering their email or telling them they can get a free cam girl show by signing up to some site? At least with this the person is truly getting what they "pay for". The only "bh" aspect of this is if you make up some excuse like it is for something. If people stop they obviously want their car washed...if they ask what it's for i see nothing wrong with simply saying you wanted to get some people together to do something fun and a car wash sounded fun. Nothing wrong about that at all and I'm sure you would still make plenty of money (because keep in mind if people stop long enough to ask what your doing then they are already interested in having their car washed...or they would not have stopped at all).

Its simple..its basic...its kinda high schoolish...but who cares...it would work

Setup something to run automated online all day like an email blast and then go have some fun with friends on a hot sunny day getting wet and washing cars and then come home with lots of cash in hand, cash earned through an email blast, and a party to celebrate a fun day. the end. haha

this definitely works. i used to be involved with a local youth group (back in my teen days) and whenever we needed to raise some nice cash, this was how we did it. i know we used to rake in the dough.

if you work it correctly, you can make some nice change and consistently keep those home depot parking lot ushers busy...

This just made me laugh. This is a win win

Seems difficult if you reside in United States. For Each and everything you need to pay taxes.

LOL, this is great. Did u actually say you were for a charity? What about if you said a little white lie? Such as, its for my {kids|nephews|neices} college fund. {He|She} is a great student but unfortunately her parents dont have enough for college

As much as you joke...think if you were out front of a really busy store and its 100 degrees out...you could crank out some cups of lemonade for a buck a piece and i bet you could make 1k a day...easy

I just thought of something. Where did you get the water hook up? I guess you would need to convince a business to allow you to use their water huh?

Good question...I know here in NYC something like this would never pan out. The first reply you would get to "can i use your water?" would be "gtfo", let alone finding a spot to do actual washes...how did you get your water sir?!

They let you use their water for funeral car washes. You could always pay them $100 bucks to cover water as well.

oh and you can't track cash so NO TAXES
