    Check out the sites on the first page of Google for "garcinia cambogia"

    doctoroz
    amazon (no wonder bezos is worth 215 billion, 12th richest man in the world)
    webmd
    businesswire
    prnewswire
    finance.yahoo.com

    This is giving users what they want?
    This is a horrible user experience, typical manipulated search results by Google.

    I wonder how much Amazon is paying G to be listed on the first page for everything!

    I dont think its about payment only.

    Machine learning is a two step process: training(in) and testing(out). For training you pick a representative sample that contains good and bad samples, and train the algorithm to push the good ones upwards, and the bad ones downwards. That part of the process we, as users, never see.

    Testing is evaluation of what you learned on a real data, this is what we experience, when type searches into Google.

    So in the case of Google:

    Amazon in -> Amazon out
    Webmd in -> Webmd out
    Garbage in -> Garbage out

    All is not as it appears, however, all is as it should be.

    I would make the point that the Amazon pages that rank are product pages.

    If you have a look at the backlink profile of the pages that rank, you'll see that someone (presumably the seller) has built ALOT of links to those pages, and have quite a significant effort behind ranking those pages.

    I don't suggest that Amazon has done that for the sellers, I suggest that the sellers are using Amazon as a platform because of the fact that a) it can withstand a whole bunch of SEO abuse, and b) it's significantly easier to rank than a DIY ecommerce site, and c) buyers trust Amazon more than anything.

    So I suggest if you want to sell garcinia cambogia, get listed as a vendor on Amazon, and spam/SAPE the crap out of your product pages :)

    Meanwhile on bing these are the results for me. :D
    bing.com/news
    Mynews India
    puregarciniacambogia.com
    garciniacambogia.com.au
    garciniapure.com
    garciniacambogiaextractpro.com

    Its clear that google don't have sense. Not only for this for most of the results i see nothing but shits.

    Moral of the story. Promote your site in google. When you want to search something use Bing.

    IMHO them both suck big time from user perspective. However, each in its own way...

    Google:
    - Not consistent, search results change every weekend - you cant find same thing twice
    - Pretends it knows what you wanted to ask - fails miserably when you need to find something outside the scope of popular media
    - Not objective - search results vary between countries/users

    Bing:
    - Has small index - even if it could find what you need, it cant, because the page is not in the index
    - Sometimes fails to connect between long tail query and search results

    As a test, try to search "proof that world is 3d" on both Bing and Google. Just so you know, there is only one such a proof and its based on the properties of wave equation. Bottom line, the end result of the proof - waves (or information) can propagate properly only in 3D.

    Anyway, Google will offer you a range of 3D printers, and Bing will offer you a bunch of non-relevant proofs.

    Soon users will cut out the middle man and just search amazon for what they want, instead of the shite which is suposed to be a search engine, and not one big advertisment for Amazon.

    Why have you included businesswire, prnewswire and finance.yahoo.com in the list? these aren't manipulated by google. If you take a closer look you will notice that those belong to affiliates (spammers).
    Also Doctoroz page is the most relevant page to the topic so i see no problem with that but yes amazon spawns in each and every commercial term in the world which is a big "???"
