Hey there, I finally decided to give SEO a go. I've been thinking about it too much for the past few years and decided to simply start and forget about that I can fail, which by the way kept me from starting for more than 4 years.

I found a low competition keyword with over 20,000 monthly searches, yup, a goldmine.

All results on the first page have NO quality backlinks, some of the results have no backlinks at all.
Others that do have backlinks are all made from services like GSA so Google is going to penalize them soon enough.

Now I know that my domain is only a week old and that SEO is a waiting and patience game but I want to get it right, I cannot fail because many things depend on whether I make this work or not.

Now all my pages are indexed but I'm not ranking for the desired keyword, or better yet, I'm not ranking for anything at all in Google. Is this a standard thing or did I do something wrong at the very beginning?

How long does it take for a website to rank for a low competition keyword?

About building backlinks... Unfortunately, I have no money to spend to purchase quality PBN backlinks that would help me with ranking.

My plan is to build free contextual Web 2.0 backlinks from free websites such as:
    - WordPress, HubPages, Yola, Weebly, Wix and so on...

Before I start, I just want to know if this can work or will I be wasting my time?

    Thank you!

Its a good start you just concentrate on your site content and build links with social signals.
After you get some money gradually build links with diversity links and Niche guest posts.
So that you can rank your low competition keyword.
But don't forget, Concentrate on your content now that's only will help you to get some improvements and also your ON page methods is important too.
Hope you get some idea from my suggestions.:)

The problem is, my niche is blackhat (a game cheat) which means that I won't be able to get any backlinks from guest posting on other websites.
Any other suggestions, and oh, I already started with getting social signals.

I'm not surprised that you're not ranking after just a week, as you said yourself it takes time and patience. One thing you could do is rank a YouTube video for your keyword and have that link to your website.

Gaming is very popular on YT and it is generally easier and quicker to rank on there than Google itself.

Nope, about actual online game cheats. For example: World of Warcraft hacks... (not my niche, just giving a blatant example)

I know, my videos kept getting deleted no matter what I did so I decided to go with Google this time.

What reasons were you given for the deletions? Were you using other peoples content?

Oh my... SEO really is fun. I'm getting organic visitors for queries I myself could never even think of, lmao.
