Got a random reputation comment on one of the threads I posted over a year ago. Totally forgot that I even wrote it to be honest. I ventured back to the post and I found a great article posted by Simas6 about the "Powers of Colors". It is a great article about how colors affect a persons buying decision. Great read.

    Here is the original thread:

    And the article

Pretty interesting. As I mentioned in the thread, I have tested a lot of different color schemes with websites/call to actions. Every niche is different of course, but I have found red and orange call to action buttons always perform the best. Color schemes really depend on your audience.

These are the types of things everyone should consider when building out a website.

Colors do indeed matter. I always prefer BLUE, my 2 past SEO Services were both/are blue, looks very professional.

Orange is also quite good. Bright colors tend to work great and make the mood better.

Great post, defo something to look into.

    Thanks

It is amazing how this influences our subconscious in day to day life. Supermarkets use this to great effect and there is no doubt about it working. truly amazing!

Pretty interesting reading. I guess it's a common knowledge that certain colors make us feel in a certain way, but It will be nice to know more academic viewpoint on this.

Color has as much to do with sales as it does with usability of your communications, be they pages, emails or posts. All the color theory books offer specific examples and few scientific citations, most have been written decades ago, and offer general theory.

This would probably be more useful to you if you're interested today. Google:
    MarketingExperiments
    Useit

Both sites cover color and other design principles in depth, and break down the why behind the how, with examples, and more importantly -- actual statistics. Enjoy!
