I swore there was no sandbox and backlinked the crap out of a domain name less then a year old. Things were going fine until I crossed that invisible line and my rankings fell like whale %$#$. I wasnt de-indexed but on or around the 10th page and knew I had enough links to be on top. I now know to go easy on a new domain. An aged domain is a different story.

I read somewhere on here to keep backlinking. Dont stop. Googlebot sees a sudden stop after weeks of backlinking and you have the crosshairs on your website.

So I decided to run a scrapebox campaign of 10,000 comments and also added 1000 bookmarks. Within a week of that campaign I am back on top.

It was also recommended to add original articles which I also did. I deleted all my duplicate content and only added articles that were not found anywhere else and also added youtube videos related to my site using a WP plugin.

Thanks BHW! The information found here is priceless.

That is great i have a similar problem, the domain is already 3 years old, but after a xrumer blast, all traffic to the site stoped.

Still waiting for when it will come back up for air.

Good for you! Indeed, building backlinks and some new content does work.

Did it myself a couple of times so...

    Thats awesome.

Getting hit by the sandbox is pretty offsetting. I've only had it happen once when I did something similar to what you described above.

I built a few unique articles (like you did) and also did some high PR links and I got out. I didn't rank at the top right away though. It probably took around 3-4 weeks for me to get my rankings back.

Also you there are many sites where you can get unique original articles from article marketers on every subject. Dont really want to give away my source but you will need them as google cracks down harder in the sites they have only syndicated content on no original.

With all due respect please allow me to disagree. I know it's a matter of personal belief but I don't believe in duplicate content myth.
I have several websites with NOTHING but duplicate content that are outranking original content source so unless there is a concrete-hard evidence of duplicate content penalty I wouldn't confuze the masses.
I think constant flow of backlinks is crusial but dupe content...neeehh
    :D

I've been scouring the forums and I see stories like this time and time again. So I think the moral of the story is if your site seems like it's sandboxed, keep linkin' away till hopefully one magical day, the site comes back.

As to duplicate content, I didn't believe it either, however, Google recently stated that they would be devaluing "low quality" sites. And I kinda took that to mean "duplicate content" site. I know they're different in symantics but in the end they seem like the same thing.

I didnt say duplicate content. I mentioned syndicated content. I dont believe in the duplicate content myth either.

You can rank with syndicated content but you better have lots of backlinks and its wisdom to buffer yourself with some original content for long term.

There is really no reason to use articles and content that are duplicated across thousands of sites. Then you ae forced to outrank every duplicate article for those terms.

There is plenty of unique content on the web if you know where to look.

Good idea. Use some other types of links. Commenting alone looks suspect IMHO.

Sitting still will gain you nothing.
