Text with semi-transparent background ?

    How can I write a text with semi-transparent background, something just like this one

    I already tried google but without luck, any idea ...

    Note: I have photoshop but I just do not know how to do it ... LoLL!!...

    -Create a new layer
    -use marquee tool (m) to create shape you want to fill
    -Change foreground colour to whatever you want
    -select gradient tool (g) and then maybe shift+g if paint bucket is selected
    -in the top left, click the gradient drop down, and select foreground to transparent.
    -then just click where you want the gradient to start and end
    -create a new layer for text and you're done :)

    Sounds like a lot of steps, but could be done in about 10 seconds..
