I am using an elegant theme. I have published many pages with no problem, however my about page was only showing the post image but no text even though i could see the text in the page editor in the dashboard. I deleted the whole page and created a new one. Same problem. The live page shows the image, but not the text even though the text shows in the editor. Googled the problem but so far nothing.

    Please help!

    Thanks in advance,

    James :)

IF you recently made a change to the blog try undoing that, maybe that'll help

Make sure your text isn't white or the same color as the background.

AChange back to the default theme. If your text appears, its a theme problem. If it doesn't appear, something has been fucked up. Check your html source and make sure its correct. Worst comes to worst, slash and burn. Trash the install, save your posts if you care and start the WordPress install from clean.

In the style.css file of the theme, check the p element and see if it has a font-size mentioned. If it has, see that it has a value of over 10px (even a 8px would do, for example...).

If the p element doesn't have a font-size mentioned, then check this element:
    html, body, div, span, applet, object, iframe, h1, h2, h3, h4, h5, h6, p, blockquote, ... (it's a big collection of elements...).

In that, see if there is this style parameter present: "font-size: 100%;" >> if that style parameter is not present, then put the above (font-size: 100%) inside the element and save the css file, and then refresh the webpage.

Most probably, your problem will be solved. Else, someone needs to check your webpage, at least from their browser.

The above solution is for the site, if only one page is affected (your about page only), then there is some internal problem (could have happened when you saved the page some time back)... may be you will have to reinstall the theme and see. Also try to create a About Us page and put the content of About page in it. Then delete the About page.

My first post and time to shine? Hopefully!

    Under the HTML viewer:

If you used the <! -- more -- > tag, try changing "more" to "read more" or something else.
If you used too much special characters and symbols, try eliminating them.

I encountered this problem maybe five times already.

If you still need help, you can PM me, although I'll probably ask for an editor's account (just temporary ;)) and I can check it out for you (lol, I sound like a scammer, don't I? haha).

But there, fiddle with the more tag if you're using it.

Try creating another page for your About page. It's possible that the database entry for that page has become corrupt (in table wp_posts). So if you create another page, About Us (a different name from About page), and put your About page's details in it, that will possibly solve the problem.

Looks to me like it's due to a db corrupt entry. If there was any other problem that had occurred during the saving of that page, the DB entry for that page can become corrupt. Try this solution.

If you know how, then you may also use the repair database function and see if the problem solves.
