I'm getting an iPhone and was wondering if I tethered it to my laptop of I would be able to disconnect/connect and get a new IP every time like an air card.

    Thanks.

i think ATT monitors the network usage and if you do it too many times they will shut your account off. technically you're not allowed to tether your iphone.

How can they tell? Unless you disconnect like 500 times a day?

By irregular bandwidth usage that you could only use on a laptop or a desktop rather than an iphone. A lot of people have been shut off for it. They have a way of being able to tell.

Ive also found with an aircard you can create a wifi connection with it then connect your iphone or ipod touch to the wifi and post ads on cl and there is a renew ip button which takes like 5 seconds so i can post all day with it if i wanted but  cladgenius is faster :D

If I was posting 500 ads a day I'd get an air card or more likely just proxies and an auto poster to make it go faster, but I'm relatively low right now.

I use my Blackberry for that on TMobile and have never had any problems. If you get your iPhone unlocked and use TMobile, you should be ok.
