Me = building a new spec! ATI 5870 all the way

Looks awesome. But it wud be a while before we begin to see games that utilize DX11 and by that time ATI 5870 wud become an old news. :P

Does DX11 offer any real advantage in day to day uses (not gaming)?

not really, devlopment and gaming. Not sure but i think Dirt2 utilises dx11 and the tessellation bro, they are pushing hard because dx10 was a flop!

No wonder it was a flop.
Vista is crap and they restricted DX10 to vista to force people buy their crap.
It backfired two times ;)

Where is the difference of tessellation and bump mapping ?

The problem with Win7 is that it has to run a VM to "play" XP programs.
Means a huge memory waste (400+mb ?).

It still only supports 3.5gig memory on 32 bit -> you need 64bit Win 7
And that probably is not the most compatible one you get use

mmmmmmm is that what you've found? I've found most progs are working on 64bit :/ Actualy alot more than i imagined, not one iv'e come across yet is not compatible.
