Hi guys, I got a temp ban by watching stories (manually going into other people photo likes) having a 10 year old account and that is also verified (blue tick)
How is this possible?

I did this by visiting instagram on safari and not the app, because on the latter Instagram doesn't show you all the people that published stories, unless you click users one by one and see in their profile if there is a story, but in safari (so web app) it correctly shows if the user has a story by the orange circle around the profile pic (and you can directly click it to see the story).

Is it better to continue doing this by using the app? and clicking on profiles to see if they published a story? Does using web app vs iOS app make any difference for the blocking algorithm?

I don't understand if the temp ban was triggered on 24h timespan or hourly, maybe last morning I watched too many in half an hour.. anyway I need to understand if I can stick to a program (e.g. watch 10 new users each hour) and if it is better to stop doing any activity through web browser (even replying to DM from my Mac)

Thanks so much, any help or other strategy is Wellcome !

AFAIK bots use browsers, which may have triggered their detection.
I'm assuming you're not using a VPN/proxies since you didn't mention it. If you are, you have your answer.
Also, humans don't randomly watch stories (unless it's accs you're following) just for the fun of it.
Want to prevent a ban? Stop looking like a bot.

Any account, irrespective of verified or not can get temp bans if any kind of automation activity is triggered.

It could be that even though you weren't using any kind of automation, your activity normally was so fast unlike other average humans that the algorithm got triggered.
