The situation in Brazil is not good. Telegram was recently blocked by the Brazilian Justice for not reporting data from investigated users. According to Telegram, they do not have this data.
He equated Brazil's policy with countries like China and Iran (because Telegram is blocked there).
Telegram has been permanently removed from the App Store.

Yesterday, Google put an alert on the search home screen saying that the Bill does more harm than it helps in the fight against fake news.
Today the justice of Brazil made Google withdraw this, if it did not withdraw, a millionaire fine per hour would be applied.

Here's a curious fact: the government censored Google's text on the bill to show that the government is not in favor of censorship.

Along with Google, Facebook and other bigtechs also came out against the bill.

Honestly, I read the entire project and it has some benefits, such as more transparency in social media algorithms, but it has much more harm, such as the government itself informing whether the content is fake news or not. And let's say that the current government is not very democratic, it is the same government that weeks ago said that the Russian War was because of Ukraine and increased the partnership with China to create a purchase x sale currency (not to be used the US dollar).
Oh, we also cannot forget that the head of state was arrested for corruption years ago.

Lol threatening google with a million $ an hour fine to try to strong-arm them into censorship.

How do they plan on getting google to pay that?

Our ministers think they are Gods. Directors of Google, Meta and Spotify were notified to go to the Federal Police to give testimonies for being against the Censorship Project

Updated:
Recently, Instagram sent a message to all Brazilians warning about the Brazilian government's Censorship project.
Today the Ministers of Brazil decided:
- Removal/deletion of the message sent by Telegram to users on Tuesday, within one hour of the company's notification;
- It must be sent to the same recipients as the message above with a ready message made by the government of Brazil;
- In case of non-compliance with these measures or the deadline, suspension of Telegram for 72 hours throughout the country;
also in case of non-compliance, a fine of $100k per hour, even if the app is already offline;
- That the Federal Police take a statement from Telegram representatives in Brazil within 48 hours.
