I want a PC because I want the CLADG. From what I know Clad is only working on PC's. I want to know if anyone can break down my mac. To see if it is worth trading for any worthy PC.

First off here are the specs:

    Model Name: MacBook Pro 15"
    Model Identifier: MacBookPro1,1
    Processor Name: Intel Core Duo
    Processor Speed: 2.16 GHz
    Number Of Processors: 1
    Total Number Of Cores: 2
L2 Cache (per processor): 2 MB
    Memory: 1 GB
    Bus Speed: 667 MHz
    Boot ROM Version: MBP11.0055.B08
    SMC Version: 1.2f10
    Serial Number: W86361LNVWX
    Sudden Motion Sensor:
    State: Enabled

Its a bit old. I just wanted to get some pros advice to see if you think I can get anything out of it.

    Thanks

I completly agree with phracktl... You got several options:

    - Run CLADG within a VM: virtualbox, vmware fusion or parallels
    - Use the Bootcamp utility on OSX to make a dual boot: Go to Applications - Utilities - Boot Camp Assistant and follow the process
    - Use Winebottler: http://winebottler.kronenberg.org/ (wine for mac)

    cheers olystyle

Don't really know why would anyone want that - or rather, pay for it or exchange it. Personally I wouldn't even pay anything for my current 2009 model, let alone 2006 model like yours.

So yeah, either run in VirtualBox, or natively in BootCamp. Or just get Windows VPS or completely another Windows box.

edit. Nah, beat me to it.

Oh hell yea guys basically your telling me how to run any windows programs off of my mac! That is awesome! Thanks! I was researching last night, and thought you could pay the monthly fee for CLAD, but then realized that you have to buy a license. Does anyone know if you can rent or finance it. I actually just started working for other people helping them with their posts on this major classified site. And I think its legal because the TOS says you can not offer ads with a link to a posting service, or auto posting service, so if you are just offering an independent posting service then i think youre ok. And wont end up like Tommy. So I hired someone off of freelancer. And set up the bid to make $50 dollars off outsourcing the work by upselling. Well let me tell you the guy was from bangladesh, it was such a a hassle not being able to communicate in the same time zone, and the language barrier is just ridiculous. The english is almost backwards, but you can still somewhat understand what they are trying to say. Anyways the guy never kept track of all the links. Except for a few, so he double posted to try to fix the problem of providing the links, and after that all the links he did get stick got flagged. Because of duplicate content. I have been researching and just need to crack down and finally buy a proxxy service, and do it myself.

He's going to have a hard time running a VM on one gig of RAM.

OP, can you upgrade the RAM?

It's very easy to do. There are some step by step tuts on YouTube.

I got the same ram on Amazon for 1/2 the price the Apple store wanted for it.

Just install windows on your mac? Won't that work? I've seen some people do that.

I would use a VPS. For about $40/month you can get a decent VPS from Hostamus. I don't know if he allows CLAD, I don't do CL stuff, but you can upgrade/cancel at any time and you don't have to buy and fix any hardware that fails.
