Techniques to boost video rankings

Im in the movie niche currently, very competitive lol.

Lets discuss tactics to get good video rankings for keywords.

Currently I will upload my movies through tubemogul, blast them up to approx 200 views with playinator, and submit them to digg. Still my hits have been down greatly over the past few weeks.

What else can i do? The only thing i can think of is manually rating and commenting videos, if i do this how many ratings / comments will make a video rank up?

if you have the proper keywords in the title and description etc you cant do anything more but to somehow increase the ratings and views to rank high, to have an idea use y0utube search for your keywords and see all the videos that are ranking for it and you get an idea of how an estimate for how many views you would need, also playlists sometimes come up in the first page of a searched word too so maybe if you make some YT playlists you can end up in the first page.

Making PlayLists how can they help ? doesn't that just put your competition on your door step?

why not build some links , do some seo ,get ranked and get constant seo traffic to your videos

Yep, a YouTube video with the same amount of keyword-in-your-anchor-text links
pointing to it as some WordPress domain will always rank higher.

Ex: If you're in a health niche, say weightloss and a keyword you're going
after is: "how to lose weight fast and keep it off". [Hmm, competition might
be a little thick on that one, but pretend there's no ehow's at the top and
that the 'slimgirls' secret box site doesn't have so many backlinks ]

If you blasted out a unique article to 1500 different directories with one link
in your resource box pointing to a YouTube video and one to your WordPress
landing page, the YouTube video would rank much higher, much quicker than
the site with no built-in authority.


And video sites seem to rank even higher than other Web 2.0 sites like Vox,
Quizilla, hubpages, etc.

So, yeah, just build a bunch of keyword links and point 'em to your video url.

if you search on y0utube for some terms you will see that after the most viewed popular videos results yoou also see the playlists for that keyword so people see them on top too while searching and if they your own videos then its more likely you'll get views
