Without getting into the pros and cons of health care socialism if that's possible, what do you think of the SEO job being done here?

    A snippet from Townhall

Also there is a big ad buy. a bit from TheBlaze

So...setting the political hot potato aside for the sake of this discussion...
Are they getting good SEO value for the buck?
Are the results indicative of SEO and linking? Or is it due to the big ad buy?
Do other big Google ad buyers receive any such boosts?save

I think it has more to do with the fact that it's a .gov domain and also people will link to the .gov naturally because, for many people it is a valuable resource.

I don't believe it shouldhave anything to do with it, but I heard a few accusations that the administration was in effect buying off Google. Probably mis-informed people.

But I would be interested in an analysis by someone who does that sort of SEO number crunching. Does the site deserve the ranking it is getting? Was there a real linking campaign? Did not rank well for those terms prior to the alleged campaign?

But the point is made that the term "Obamacare" is mainly used by it's critics, and the story, or spin depending on your view, is that they were countering search results for that term to instead lead to the .gov site

What rankings are you talking about? The picture you showed contained the link in an adwords slot. You can get there by paying the highest cpc for the term. It has nothing to do with ranking anything or SEO. In fact, I just checked "obamacare" and its no where to be found anymore.

Boy do I feel dumb! :)

I took someone else s word that it was ranking high for those keywords as well. Thinking it would take a focused effort to get to the bottom I didn't check it out more closely at first. Unless the results have been scrubbed...but I'm not saying that!

Holy crap I'm getting sick of this interstitial signup thing!
