I have been burned by a local businessman for over $100 000, which bascially fucked my life up. Im finally recovering now 5 years later. He has burned many people as I have found out recently. He is being sued by alot of people for scamming them. What would be the best way to get this out there? I also do not want him knowing it was me. Would google remove it if I SEO his name and profession? What would be the quickest way to make somthing like this go viral in the area. City of about 500,000 people. What would you guys do? Thanks!

Yes SEO his full name and proof he's a scammer would definitely cause on impact on his scamming business.

I feel for you, but how is this related to black hat seo? BHW is getting saturated day by day. OP, you should open this in the Lounge of all places.

Burned for 100K and you're considering a negative SEO campaign?

I'd have a hard time restraining from severe violence.

In the first place, I would make a website "this dickhead screws people over dot com" and who cares if he knows it was you. This dude is a major rip-off. I would post 30,000 back links and ping them everyday for like a year and have a top 100,000 Alexa rating ready for this dude. good luck, revenge is sweet.

This is not the right section, and no one cares about that scammer, hes is sued and people know about him.

He will continue to scam people, you can sue him and get nothing.

Why do people bother to post this kind of silly revenge question about people that try hard to have a good life by ripping other people?

You can be helpful by telling us how he scammed you, so we can protect ourselves.

Yes, please share how you got scammed.

Either way, head over to RipOffReports, scam.com, and begin making posts. Make them LEGITIMATE and as professional sounding as possible. No ones gonna believe you if you make some post full of grammar and spelling errors.

After that its gonna be tough, you can try and setup Wordpress, bloggers, and other Web 2.0 properties for his name but those could end up getting removed rather easily.

A little more black hat, but would be effective and reduce the ability to get caught or sued for libel/slander would be to create sites and SEO them. Buy the websites with a prepaid GreenDot card or similar loadable CC with cash.

Buy offshore hosting, paid with the CC, and then begin your negative SEO campaign. Make enough hooplah and news about it on the net and then "anonymously" tip your local press and tell them to simply "look online" for the persons name.

Thanks everyone that answered. It was in real estate. I was thinking of doing the anonomous offshore thing and seo the shit out of it. Would google remove it if it got to the top of the serps? (thats if they complained). Only reason I dont want to get found out is that he could probably sue me or I would get criminal record which would affect my ability to travel.

No they wouldn't, the only way it could *potentially* get removed is from the domain registrar OR the hosting company if enough pressure was placed on them.

    Google won't remove it.

Do you think those offshore places would remove it? Could you recommend where you would go or who you would use that wouldn't remove it.

Contact you state attorney general. Because if others have
been scammed, they might like to know about it. Other idea contact consumer
advocate Clark Howard. He always likes to warn people about scammers.

    Simple....

I would say make a post on Scam.com

Title it. SCAMMED BY _______ for $100,000. STAY AWAY.

    Then, write about your experience.

I was doing a job for this one guy, he never paid me and I wanted to get back at him. I remember him saying at the beginning when he was praising himself that you can google him.

I made the post on scam.com and now it's the 1st thing that comes up when you search for his name. Someone else has made a post as well since then. He may decide to change his name, if you can snap a picture of him and post it on some sites with a few details. Not to intense because im not clear on defamation laws etc. So that if people decide to do google images, they'll see his face.

You don't need to do any SEO Scam.com has done all the work for you. Sorry you got scammed.

LOL, so i just looked up the post, apparently a new person has commented. I'll send you the name if you PM me.

Sorry, EDIT cause i gave the weblink wrong. it is http://www.scam.com

What a waste of time - just get your money back and move on. Let the gov take care of this and he'll end up in jail for years, no need to take matters into your own hands.

I'd say get the Son's of Anarchy after him lol... But seriously you could try suing him for fraud? The US seems to be so expensive to defend yourself in court proceedings, or sue someone for ripping you off. Have you got irrefutable proof he did rip you off? Did both of you sign any paper work beforehand and had a lawyer go over it? I'd imagine with property investments and purchases there would be alot of lawyer work and paperwork involved, hopefully you still have any paperwork you done back then, if you want that $100K back you will need all the evidence you can get to prove this dickhead ripped you off.

The US seems to have so many ridiculous laws and I have noticed that people in the US can sue eachother for the most ridiculous things. That puts me off living in the US.

I wouldn't agree with that. I'm sure that with my little post, I may have helped a lot of people who decide to google someone 1st before giving them their money. At the end of they day you'll probably save someone who was about to use their last $5,000 (stupid as it may be) on his silver tongue and empty promises, who would have then lost their home and jeopardize their family. Extreme as it may sound, it happens. It is helpful, and useful.

Geez, if someone burned me for 100k I'd be scouring the city for him. Kudos to you for not beating him within living death.
