I wrote 10+ quality articles of 300+ words and put them on web2.0 blogs.

The problem is, none of them are showing up on any BL checker, and since I added them, my rank in serp hasn't moved.
It's been over 15 days, it's been indexed (shows up with site:******), but the backlinks aren't counting.

Has anyone encountered this problem before? What should I do to fix it, remake the web2.0 property and post same article there?

IMO if the property is indexed and you can see the link on it then it doesn't matter if backlink checker softwares can find or not cause google has already indexed it and considered it as a backlink.

You're relying on 3rd party tools that aren't as good as google so it could take some time for the backlinks to show up on them.

Yes, if it's already indexed - you don't need to care whether or not it shows up on your BL checker.

The Most out of the BL checkers only display few backlinks, most probably old and high PR backlinks. You have to do second tier to get your first tiers shown on BL checkers (Not Guaranteed).

It is not 100% sure none of the tools will show you every backlinks. If it is indexed then just dont bother and stay happy you will see SERP improvement sooner.

Have you tested one by one in Google if they are indexed or not?

This is the best way to know it, I usually ignore tools that counts your indexed links, just look directly

Also you can make some social bookmarks to your Web 2.0, they will get indexed faster.

I had the same "problems" as you are currently having. It's totally normal, I have ranked websites without those tier 1 ever showing up. I have ranked websites where my competition had 1000ths of domain backlinks, 100ths of low pr (sometimes spammy) page links with a few (around 20) web 2.0's with big tier 2 link and tier 3 link juice.

You have not seen increases on serps because web 2.0 backlinks without links backing them up are nearly useless, they are links which get exponentially better the more backlinks they have, start building some tier 2 ( I recomend tier 3 too to index those tier 2 links) and you will surely see some increases. Altough, beware that off page seo is not everything, if your on page seo is bad then nothing will ever save you from the depths of hell (aka page 4+).

Where are you checking them? Check in webmaster tools to see if Google has picked them up or try http://www.majesticseo.com/ it has the most up to date index of links on the web.

    Thanks for all the replies.

I know 3rd party tools aren't necessarily going to show all the backlinks, but these backlinks have been backened up back some social bookmarking and had a blog comment service from this forum put 500 backlinks to each web2.0 to make sure they get indexed (did this 5 days after making the web2.0 property because I didn't notice any change). These tools do show some other backlinks that havn't gotten any attention, I would think they crawl the web 2.0 properties quite often.

If I would have a lot of quality backlinks I would say I just need to get more to move on the SERP list, but crappy backlinks have brought me more ranking than this. In fact, I havn't moved even a single position for any of my keywords because of these links. These are all quality links that I thought would bring quite a good amount of linkjuice to my site.

The keywords I'm ranking for are actually quite easy to rank for, I've been on bottom of page 1 or top of page 2 for most of the keywords since the day my site was indexed. And they get 3k-18k searches a month.

The only reason I could think of why they are useless, and maybe all of you seo guru's will say "ofcourse it won't work like this" is that my site is in a foreign language (dutch). So because of this the backlinks do not count or something. But all the articles are in dutch, and if I search on google it knows it's dutch. I have been searching for some sort of case study on foreign SEO, but havn't found one. But there are obviously a lot of people using web2.0 property to write in foreign languages, so it shouldn't really matter I think.
