is this a good thing?
Short answer, Yes. But depends on what kind of white hat marketing you intend to do.
Whitehat methodes yield long term income and its bit hard to implement. The methodes will take bit time to gain strength. Where as blackhat ways yield quick money but there is a risk of ban at any time. So its best to stay on whitehat, if you are financially well to invest on ppc and other tactics
Well i do prefer blackhat only, becoz i'm a lazy guy.
Go for gray. Faster and less frustrating than white; less banning than black.
I like gray...only the most anal of merchants will ban for it, so my commissions stay where they belong (in my account!). The SEs, on the other hand, don't like it, so having a lot of domains is good.
Once you've seen how fast you can make bank with black or gray, chances are that white will have you beating your head on the desk in short order.
Everything in me is telling me to go blackhat.
Seriously, the money to be made is so fucking easy doing it BH.
And what the f can I do whitehat...
I most definitely do not want to create a website and do some SEO shit, there are millions of websites.
The least I could do is promote some CPA product... but doing WHITEHAT CPA?! That sounds fucking absurd.
CPA is all about blackhat.
This, my friend... However, my dad caught on to what i was doing (i don't know how the fuck he did) and he got pissed and stuff. So I decided to release my BH method... cause it's useless to me if I can't do it anymore.
As for whitehat, I have no idea what I'm gonna do.
For now, all I can think of is the AC middleman method. It's a good $40 for an hour of work... which is nothing compared to blackhat CPA.
Why not use all methods...
Whitehat for the primary Money Sites
Grey for the first ring around your Money Sites
Grey and Black to feed the second ring
Black for "special projects" and to feed the third ring
Then after you build 4 or 5 Money Sites you can use WH to interweave the rings where appropriate with little to no risk.
Rinse and Repeat.......
getting black to white is like stop smoking cigarette. you just can't!
I think being white is top, you get a decent job stopping security holes and it makes decent money. YAH can stop
What exactly is gray hat...
Edit: Nvm lol
Any whitehat methods that don't include CPA?
Adsense I guess. fuck that
to me, blackhat is often providing shit leads that won't convert for the advertiser. greyhat is providing good leads but with methods they don't allow, like craigslist, etc. i do greyhat. my leads are good and targeted but i get most of them from craigslist.
I generally classify things like this:
white hat = legal
grey hat = legal but usually unethical or a bit shady
black hat = illegal
As for the white hat vs. black hat debate it depends on your personality and skills. I accomplish many of the same things black hat's do using white hat techniques... It comes down to a matter of talent and knowledge.
Black Hat can certainly be more lucrative at times and if done right but always carries some risks with it. So I guess in choosing your path decide what you can live with and the risks your willing to take to get to where you want to be.
white hat = legal
grey hat = legal, no fraud, however you may go against a TOS which can get you banned, but there is no way you will get sued/arrested/etc.
black hat = illegal, it is fraud, however, most of the time it is on a very small scale (like telling people you will get a free television for filling in an iframed e-mail submit), so no one will really give a damn. Nobody gets harmed on a large scale.
A bit shady, but like gbmack said, it won't get you arrested. Although I think if most merchants would ban for it, it still qualifies as black hat and not gray.
White hat: No repercussions from anyone. Also takes zero imagination. Probably won't sell much, either, unless you're a merchant with lots of affiliates (who are busy using gray/black-hat methods and ignoring any Pollyanna-esque TOSes).
Gray hat: The ones doing the complaining are your competitors, or search engines, and their opinions don't count, now do they?! Only idiots will ban for it, because your leads/sales are valid, and it's not the merchant's job to be the Google police. Not that some won't try that, but if you do your research you can avoid them. In many cases, "gray hat" is just what I consider seriously competing!
Black hat: Some merchant is going to enjoy having a nice, ironclad excuse to reverse on you. And, the feds/police/etc. may care in the bad way.
You're missing out. There's nothing quite like pulling up Goofle and seeing your site above 10,000,000+ others, and knowing all those sales are belong to you...
not sure the details of you question, sort of broad. Actually, most of this forum is Grey Hat (goes by many names)...sort of in between. You can't really go all black hat or all white hat. White hat is really the fundamentals and what you need to meet the threshold - on page seo, blah, blah. You need to harness certain blackhat/greyhat techniques to stay in the game and get ahead. Without automation, etc. you are destined for mediocracy. That's just the way it is and the name of the game.
Separate names with a comma.
