Hey, I recently changed broadband to o2, I changed my router (speedtouch) with o2's wireless box. Problem is now I seem to have the same IP even when I disconnect, is this how it is on o2? I didn't pay for a static address.

Can anyone help? I was always getting fresh different IP's on my old ISP..

Am I going to have to switch back ISP? Could changing my router back help?! FFS!!

Its just a long lease DHCP.
Look in the router options - do you have a choice of changing the MAC address (clone option?)

All you do then is change the last digit of the MAC address and restart your modem - new IP address :)

Thats how it works for me anyway - not O2, but another big UK ISP.

Hmm, I download a program to change my mac address, which it does. I then switch my router off and on, check IP and it's the same one. I might change routers the options are non-existent from what I can see.

Switching your PC MAC won't do a thing - you have to change the router MAC.
    What router do you have?
