    Hi Everyone,

This is my first post, although I have been lurking a bit. I'm relatively new to the IM game.

One good selling tactic which I often hear is to put your personal name to a product. One aspect though I have trouble with is the privacy concerns as a result I'm doing the exact opposite. I have all of my social networking on the strictest privacy settings. Google only comes back with my watered down linkedin and facebook profile.

The other option is to totally embrace social media by opening up my profiles, putting my name out there in doing so hopefully reaping the rewards via my business

The other option I guess would be using a fictitious identity. At least with this if something does happen to your name it wont be there for life. The only down side is that it would not be that practical for offline marketing where you might need a face to face meeting to seal the deal.

What is a good course of action with this? Am I just being paranoid? or should I open and make use of an opportunity?
