I have acquired the domain commonissue.com its 5y old domain and I was planning to make an authority site of it.

The name itself is not bad and allows me to go for a lot of different keywords and I was thinking if anyone have suggestions of good ideas of what I could turn it into.

I could make a content site or another yahoo ask type for common issue/s or a specific niche, well I would like to hear some opnions, advices, suggestions to enlight my own ideas.

    Very appreciated.

you can get into a specific niche, say Health, and have affiliate links up for various ailments.

I don't know just throwing some ideas out.

It's nice that it's five years old without a drop, but without a link built to it and no content you're basically a blank slate. Why buy a domain name with nothing in mind?

How about turning this into a site listing issues related to programming, software or webdesign?

    or targetting a niche(s)
    - parents having problems with:
    -- their children / teenagers
    - problems with cars
-- ford thunderbird exhaust making noise
    -- ford-mustang-door-caved-in
    - problems around the house / appartement
    -- scratch-on-the-floor
    -- cheeseburger-stain-on-carpet
    -- toilet-flusher-not-working

Monetization over amazon (repair kits, cleaning stuff, parts,...)

    cheers

I have stacks of domains that I bought with no idea what I could do with them just because they sounded good and that maybe I could do something with them further down the line. Or I've found a decent expired domain with some age and history. For $9 a pop why not? Now, if the OP spent $100's on the domain without an idea in mind that's another matter.

I too have too many domains that were a great idea at the time. But when you look back them it's all meh. Domain commonissue doesn't sound bad but to make it work as an authority site I'm think it would need to be huge, possibly a livestong type site. What sort of searches does the keyword common issue get monthly ?

And would those keywords pay enough to make it worth it?

I've bought it because I have something in mind :) however the name seems fairly good and before starting I was thinking on getting some advices to broad my mind over it before really starting up.

Thanks man your targetting niche ideas seems pretty good they are mostly related to some of what I was planning.

Well that is the interesting part, the domain name can be considered as a unique domain name rather then a EMD as well, and I could target plenty of niches giving me plenty of keywords options

That is pretty much why I acquired it, it was dead cheap and I had nothing to lose not doing so, I have 1 authority site and was planning to have around 5 by the end of the year but was unsure of what to pick.

So I decided to start playing with godaddy auction and found some pretty cool domains however I have acquired a package of 5 domains for 7$ each which is pretty much what I wanted.

Some times I just dont get good ideas to create domain names and looking at some from the auction also bring me more ideas for unique names as well so its a plus ;)
