I recently registered a new domain name and plan on blogging about tech related stuff and maybe having some techy type products on Amazon to write reviews on. But I'm just wondering if you guys ever have any issues figuring out what product/topics to write about on your blog, or how you deal with that issue. I'm finding it hard to think of what to write about because there is already so much information on the internet. You can basically find anything. So then I decide I will try to find some products to write reviews on. But again not having much luck figuring out what product to write about. So I decide to choose a newer popular item "Fire HD 6" and start trying to do some keyword research using Market Samarai and Keyword Planner. But then I don't seem to be able to find any keywords to work with. After filtering out lots of unrelevant keywords in market samarai, there was only like 7 keywords and they all seemed very competitive (I think).. not to mention the best keywords only had about 5 searches per day.

Do you guys have any suggestions for me? It doesn't seem like I'm finding much keywords while doing keyword research..

Always u will find some less competitive keywords like this, not many search queries, my advice is shift to another niche maybe or just dive in this by a micro niche site.

    Tech niche is heavy competition.

If you're serious about tech then target & review unpopular products until you're the sh*t.

If you're not then target enema kits for grandmothers or something.

    Much easier competition

Lol interesting. I never knew that tech is heavy competition. Nor did I consider that maybe Minot having much luck finding products because I'm choosing popular products. Hmmm any suggestions as to how I would find unpopular products?

You don't want 'unpopular' products. You need to find products that are popular in small niches. Think hobbyists or something that solves a very specific problem for the consumer. Amazon and eBay are invaluable tool for product research.

You can make a survey on some topics on which you are comfortable to write about and then start blogging about them, that will be right imo.
