I don't know how it works either it's an automated system or manual, but more i think the banning is done manually.

I would appreciate if the Mods can make the reason for banning of any member to be visible, so that others can learn to adhere to my lovely BHW forum.

I know people should read the rules but the fact is that people don't do that. I am seeing these banned members frequently so I think if the reason is also shouted out in the signature would definitely help alot to making this our BHW community forum better.

I'M JUST LOVING BHW ....

People don't just get banned without warning, unless they do something ridiculously stupid or spammy. There can be up to 3 warnings before a ban and they can all expire, so I'd like to think the process is fair. Okay, yeah sure, reading ALL of the Forum Rules and TOS can be long, so if you want clarification on anything, you could 'CTRL + F' (find) a keyword relating to what you want to do on the forum and see the related articles on that point. For example, if I wanted to spam, I'd go to the Forum Rules or TOS page, press CTRL and F, type 'spam' and see what it says about it.

Back to your original point though, having ban reasons visible could be done, but apart from being nosy, I don't see why there's any need. I suppose if there was an overwhelming desire for this feature from a fair amount of members, then maybe something could be done...

I guess would be more transparent and people can't bitch about personal grudges at all !

Yes it would be great to have a reason of an user is ban because :

I've seen that "innovativeSeo" is ban.
And i've download and install his share on my website :
http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackh...digital-marketing-agency-version-1-7-7-a.html

And the virustotal gives 1 positive results, maybe a false positive but he's very active for sharing theme so it would be great to know if we must uninstall all this share???

Also in for a visible and short reason. Just to know if you can deal with that member or not. Its a difference for me if someone trolls, has bad manners or scammed a few people for $10k.

Mod would have removed the download if the user was banned for sharing infected stuff.

Why are you bumping such an old thread?

I have had 2 warnings and very sorry .

i want to no what the time period my warnings are deleted

i am scared to get another warning and i am fully ban .

i really like to no the ansaw please ...

I understand what you're saying but a lot of the time it's a breach of confidence to explain exactly why someone was banned. For us to take that step there has to be a reasonable amount of evidence and a good justification for doing so. However, scamming people tends to be illegal and we don't exactly work to the standard of evidence required in a criminal court.

Given that, telling you someone was banned in regards to scamming could well be libellous. We'll try to provide general information on it where possible so people can make a judgement but giving out detailed reasons for bans wouldn't be sensible or fair to the people involved.

I didn't think about that. Thanks.

I bump this post because i've searched in google and found this one.

I understand why you give no reason but you must make an exception for people sharing infected files no?

For any file one downloads, not just from here but from any place on the internet, one needs to check the files through the anti-virus software before opening it. Normally, the up-to-date anti-virus on any PC is good enough as the first line of defense, but there will still be viruses which the VirusTotal will be able to display if the file is checked through it. Then, there are so many new viruses / malicious codes written every day for which any inoculation is not yet written -- it will be -- in due time, and also there are many reasons for the file to get infected even if it is uploaded by a very good person for sharing purpose. So I think that your reasoning about those need to be rechecked by mods is little out of the way.

So better leave the Mods to do their more important duties they are presented on BHW with every passing moment, on our part, we can do the checking part on our own, imho.

:)

What the OP has suggested is something I've thought about as well. Maybe it's just me being nosy, but I do think it would be beneficial to have a handful of categories of why someone was banned. Some example reasons... "This member has been permanently banned from BHW due to [REASON]:
  • Shitlist Thread
  • Spam Posts
  • Infected Downloads
  • Selling Outside of BST
  • Leaking Content
  • Posting Prohibited Content
  • Etc.

Just realized this thread is almost two years old... I still think it's a helpful idea though.

The worst part is where under a username it says banned see signature, you look at signature and it just says this memember is permanently banned... What was even the point at telling me to look at signature,,, it's like BHW is constantly mega trolling me.

If its saying look at signature at least have something informative in the signature. Can't there just be a SL link in the signature or breaking rule whatever if there's no SL.

Well, after the thread is bumped I would like to say that knowing the reason is good. At least there should be a link in his signature so people can see the real reason.

I must honestly say i would love to see why others are banned. But only for my own entertaiment.
Do i need it ? No.

I would love to know too but I can understand why it won't happen.
Imagine how many of these clowns that get banned would start threatening legal action and attempt to sue/take BHW to court.
It would just be too much of a headache for Admin.
