Hi all!
I don't know if this bothers anyone else, but in the Request Download and Member Download forums, people are still using asterisks and either enclosing their download links in quote or php tags. It is also common usage to precede a download link with the anonymizer link which would not be necessary if the link were enclosed by code tags.
Clearly, the people that are doing this either have not read or have not kept up with any changes in the threads, sticky posted at the top of the forum. However, since most of the mistakes are being made by newer members, I expect that they have simply not read the instructions.
Therefore, I am requesting that such postings be reported through the report button, and that the administrator or moderator that responds simply notify the offending person that they are required to read and follow the rules regarding posting and then they are banned for 2 days to make it stick. No warnings, no second chances. And if they do it again, again they are banned for 2 days.
Even if this is done to a new person, they will most likely not leave, because 2 days isn't that long. But they will likely read and follow the instructions about posting, so that 1. we will be able to use the search to find downloads and 2. downloads will easier to obtain.
Cheers!
