I have noticed for quite a while that the search feature isn't as useful as it was on the old forum.

It just seems quite often that when I search for something I cant find it and often end up searching on google in the format search query site:blackhatworld.com

When I thought about it a bit more, I realised that results are often showing very old threads at the top.

For example, I searched the other day for "textboss"

And it shows the old thread first (Which is closed) and the new thread (posted a year later) is second.

This is a very basic example but there are a lot of times when this happens.

Wondering if there are any changes that could be made to the search facility like perhaps displaying newer results first by default and also perhaps displaying open threads before locked / closed threads?

It also seems very literal, for example if you search for "twitter followers" you get 10 results with that exact title - ok yes, that appears to be fair enough but it seems like it only searches based on title and not on number of times that text appears in the thread or some other metrics and this results quite often in finding a load of random posts with title that matches your search term but other than that, not very relevant.

You need to press "more" and then switch to most recent:

There are a lot of options in there, but I agree, I would like to see more.

By default, I get a search like blackhatworld.com/search/6277580/ which doesn't work when sharing it with other people, instead, I have to append /?q=example&o=relevance which doesn't always come up.

Yeah, I'm always going into the more area and selecting most recent. It would be awesome if that option were on the dropdown itself.
