Hi all!

I just bought a domain for an art project I'm planning to manage and create some social buzz for.

The site will need to

- welcome the visitor and make a clarifying statement as to what the project is about, who created it and why.

- offer a way to contact the creator of the project for collaboration, inquiries, etc. (some sort of contact form, I suppose)

- offer a way for the visitor to quickly sign up to an e-mail list to receive news, announcements, info on product launches, etc.

- link to an integrated (!?) store, or Shopify store selling POD-merch (shirts, hoodies, posters, art-prints, coffee-mugs, etc.)

- be in compliance with German DSGVO, data and privacy protection regulations.

- offer fast response times.

I coded a (shitty) site 12 years ago, using HTML/CSS, back when people just started using responsive frameworks. lol I'm pretty sure close to none of the little info I still remember about the process of setting up a site will be valid or relevant in this day and age.

So, for a technically not so inclined person, such as myself, what would be the best way to set this up QUICKLY, that would be easily manageable, preferably without having to write a single line of code? I can still "read" and "replace" code, if at all necessary, but I'd prefer not to, if that's an option at all.

TIME is a critical factor! The whole thing would have to be up and running within about a week, starting from the day I finish content creation and artwork for the POD-suppliers.

Can you suggest any affordable all-in-one packages that might offer a website-builder, hosting, e-mail list management, payment gateway- and POD-service-integration, I could integrate with the purchased domain?

Thanks a lot in advance for any and all suggestions ! ! !

shopify + shopify apps (integrations).
can do everything you asked without touching single line of code.
regarding compliance, that's usually in your hands as the webmaster. shopify gives you the means to be complaint.
you can get on shopify and finish this project in under a week with all desired features.

That sounds like a solid plan. I had a hunch Shopify might be the best all-in-one solution, but was unsure if I could use a Shopify store as a general landing page / main website for the project. Providing the means for DSGVO compliance is probably to be expected of an e-commerce platform operating on a global scale.

Thanks for the heads up! I feel like such a noob again ...and this really helps a lot. :)

you 100% can do a landing page in shopify page builder.
get free trial and do the tutorial...or watch youtube video. idk when last time you played on the platform was but it's pretty feature-rich.

I'm checking it out as we speak. :) Sounds like the basic package will be all I need to get everything of critical importance at this point. Thumbs up!

I'm still looking to find info on their site, regarding using your own domain with a Shopify page/store. Do you happen to know if this should be possible with their basic €36/month plan?

Also, ...would you happen to know if a link to such a site would be penalized by Instagram, Twitter, or TikTok?

If I had to use any link-in-bio tool (or the one conveniently provided free of charge, by Shopify) this would be an extra step I would very much like to avoid. Not only, because it's an extra hurdle/bump on the road to sales, but even more importantly, because the art project is rather controversial and will require instant (or as instant as possible) clarification to confused viewers who are looking to understand the background of the project.

Thanks a lot for your input!

Just found the info on using your own domain, btw. Seems to be possible with all of their plans.

Is this the wrong forum to ask about which links will be tolerated (as in not penalized in any way) by IG, X and TT?
If so, I'll be happy to open separate threads in the respective forums.

youll be fine people post shopify & linktree in their bio on all platforms w/o penalty.

I don't think you will be able to ask your way through this, let alone within a week. Big plans combined with little time, funds & expertise - you will probably have to expand your time horizon to a month unless you plan to work on this full time and very intensively.

If the shop is the main thing I'd suggest Shopify for completeness and ease of use. Woocommerce could be an alternative where you have the ecosystem of WordPress which is bigger than Shopify I think. WP also tends to be cheaper overall. The Shopify shop I currently work for on the side pays around €100/month for Shopify itself plus a little over €100/month for a translation plugin for multi language.

Strongly believe Neironvps.com is flexible enough to meet your specific needs. If you are looking for a top-notch host that will listen to the customer, go with them.
