I created a similar thread a few months ago and I was told by many members to go to the SEO marketplace section and read reviews and decide for myself. Most of the reviews there are from the 'review copies' and I don't want to trust those and do not want to waste hours reading all that and then comparing all that and then deciding on a SEO provider.

So what I want is for you all to just post here which SEO provider YOU THINK is best on this forum to rank sites. I would also appreciate if you could post their BST thread links here as well. That's all I want from you.

OP, these types of threads are a waste of time.
Pretty sure that no member has used EVERY service in The Marketplace.
All that will happen, is you will get biased opinions or people using sock accounts to promote their service.
Also depending on your site, what works for one person may not work for you.
Your best bet is reading through The Marketplace, choose 5 services you think may help, then look at the posts made by the BST owner to see if they sound like they know what they are doing.
Then PM them and ask some questions about their service and hopefully you will find somebody you feel comfortable working with.
Obviously disregard anybody who guarantees to rank you or doesn't give you any warnings about possible consequences of using their service.

I just do a good amount of research before I decide anything. Since I like to wait a while and I don't spend gigantic amounts of time on end doing due diligence, it usually takes me a good few months to finally decide on what I want to spend money on. I mean like I used to just "yolo" buying services when I first started out, but then I quickly found out I might as well just use my money to start a nice fire and roast marshmellows.

Usually, I don't look into new services that much. Not that they couldn't be any good or anything, but just that there's not enough information about it from other users. Only exception to this are services created by long-term members with a solid reputation that already opened previous services.

A few key things I like to look for:
    - Whether or not the OP is still responsive. And if so, how long it takes before (s)he answers a query on their thread.
    - If the OP answers, how clear and succinct is their answer to the question? I see shit loads of people just dancing around the question asked. Something basic like "How do you prevent footprints to your network" and if the answer is some shit like "I keep OBL >30 and don't worry, it's safe" or something worthless like that, I just find another service. If they can't answer your question properly, I just think that's shady.
    - Does the OP answer any and all questions you have, even if you don't purchase their service? And how much support do they offer? Generally, I like people who answer whatever questions I have, no matter how much time it takes. Of course, this is to a reasonable extent because I understand people are busy. I just find that the more helpful people are, the more they would care about the quality behind their service.
    - How long has the thread been around. I like to see that there's still people ordering this service even a year later, especially repeat buyers. In my eyes, it shows that it works, and the OP is putting in some effort to maintain quality despite whatever algorithm changes there are.
    - Who is posting the reviews? I usually ignore shallow reviews from new members. Not because they don't have anything to offer, but because I'm just naturally suspicious of people using new accounts to promote their own services. I only like to read reviews from new members when they're fairly length and has some detail, because I think it shows this person clearly wanted to put in the time to have an honest review.
    - Are there any JR.VIPs or higher reviewing and still buying this service? And if so, I like to make sure they aren't FREE (discounted is still okay) review copies. I like to do this because to me, I don't think people would purchase a bunch of JR.VIP accounts and shit just to promote their own service. Bonus points to these reviews especially if the person is highly reputed and I've seen them post a lot of helpful posts around the forum, and if the reviews are fairly recent.

I mean like there's a few other things I look for, but I just can't think of it off the top of my head. I've spent maybe a month or two now searching through services and I've narrowed it down to a handful.

Just to throw it out there so my post is actually relevant to your question, I'm currently considering BassTrackerBoats and BigBuddy. They both seem to have fairly good reputation and they offer excellent help. In the future, I'll most likely be using these two (as of now, my mind could change of course).

Another person I'm considering is Indianbill. He has a great reputation and I've ordered a few of his services in the past, but the thing is, I'm not completely convinced if what he's offering is not very good or if I'm just really unlucky. However, he offers excellent support and will refund you if he screws something up, so that's why I haven't totally discounted him yet.

Anyway, I have no clue how helpful I am to you, but hopefully I gave you some general idea.

Any recommendation here will be just as weighty as any other in a BST thread, no more. You have to do due diligence--whether for a $10 service or a $100 service. If you have to be diligent to make money, then you sure have to be when spending it. After all, money makes money.

Just bookmarked this thread because of PandaDomo's reply, and if you're looking for a guide on how to choose an SEO provider in the BST section, at the very least you've got pointers in his post.

Wish you luck. I'm thinking you'll need it.

Opportunity to many normal members to do self-hyping err... self-advertisement it seems. I guess this must be illegal on BHW.

Dude you have to try some services for yourself. What works for one person wouldn't necessarily work for another.
