Okay, so everyone is into building PBN's these-days, even people new to SEO are starting to see the value of running a network of sites they can use to power a new project into the SERPS.

The only problem is, More people buying = Domains becoming more expensive & Harder to get hold of

Services like Hush Hush Domains and ExpiredDomains.net make it a little easier; still a complete pain in the arse to get hold of decent domains at a good price though!

    • Wouldn't it be great if you could avoid the domain rat race?
    • Wouldn't it be great to find good domains that people aren't fighting over in some sort of Black Friday panic?
    • Wouldn't it be great to avoid 90% of all the fake PR / DA / PA domains out there too?

This is where my method comes in!

    1. What You're Looking For

Basically, instead of looking for random expired domains that have expired - we're gonna be looking for a specific type of website, Business Start Ups!

    What makes these websites awesome?

    • 80% Of Start Ups fail, that's a whole loada expired domains to go after!
    • Many of the better ideas gather links from: Techcrunch, Government, Chamber of Commerce, Universities, Mashable, Hacker News (The list goes On)
    • 99% Of these domains have never been never spammed and have a totally organic profile (Like super organic Guys)
    • Citations, the local variants of this have the lot!

    2. How to find them?

Basically, we're gonna be using Google. It's by far the easiest way to hunt these types of domains down.
The really cool thing is that because of the true power links / citations these websites garner - the best ones show up nicely on Google!

Here's my list of search terms and footprints to use:

    Code:
"this account has been suspended" start up
"this account has been suspended" indiegogo
"this account has been suspended" techhub
"this account has been suspended" hacker news
"this account has been suspended" techcrunch
"this account has been suspended" mashable
"this account has been suspended" coworking space
"this account has been suspended" tech
"this account has been suspended" social network
"this account has been suspended" equity
"this account has been suspended" seedrs
"this account has been suspended" CEO + CFO + CTO
"this account has been suspended" hub
"this account has been suspended" creative
"this account has been suspended" bootcamp
"this account has been suspended" founder + co founder
"this account has been suspended" incubator
"this account has been suspended" venturebeat
"this account has been suspended" .ac.uk + .edu
"this account has been suspended" start up weekend
"this account has been suspended" venture capital
"this account has been suspended" seeder funding
"this account has been suspended" business insider

    3. Getting Technical, Looking For Start Ups Most Likely To Fail

Okay, so sneaking in to discover start ups that have not only failed, but have had accounts suspended is one thing.

Wouldn't it be cool to travel a bit further up the chain to discover start ups that have a pretty high chance of failing?

Warning: This part of the method is time consuming and only for those deeply committed to building PBN networks.

Industries Where Start Ups Fail The Most

    Look at this: http://www.statisticbrain.com/startup-failure-by-industry/

Let's take an example of a niche where Statistic Brain says that most new companies fail.

I literally ran a search for this:

    Code:
"this account has been suspended" restaurant
    Whilst typing this method up.

The second result (I'm based in the UK) was this former restaurant chain: http://www.melarestaurants.co.uk/

Here is the rather sad looking suspension page:

    suspended.png

Here is the Nominet Page (The UK Registrar) for the domain. Apparently, the site is due to renewal in 11 months time.

    nominet.png

Here is the Majestic SEO screen-grab.

    Finding Good Domains

Now, I'm not gonna lie and tell you the above domain is awesome. It's fairly low powered and only has a handful of backlinks - yet it's completely clean and the very first domain that came up! If you're a long term PBN builder this is an awesome way to find domains that are either expired already or ones that you should be able to snap up with a decent drop catcher.

How many times recently have you logged into Expired Domains and the very first domain you looked at was clean, pure and not already taken... Exactly!

This is a powerful method, it just takes a little bit of footwork to get right - what's more you can tweak it in so many ways to discover exactly the sorts of domains you're looking for!

    Good Luck Guys!

Great method but are you supposed to contact the domain owner or wait for it to expire?

You can do both, personally I'd wait. As the companies are mostly dead and buried all you generally have to do is play the waiting game. You will also find genuinely expired domains with this method too, it's partly luck of the draw.

99% of the time you'll strike gold though.

    Why wait for 6+ months?

when it will drop it's price will not be less then other domains and instead of manually scraping so many pages and then waiting for many months just to find that your domain is in expired domain list and your 6+ month wait and manual work you did 6 months ago was worth nothing and you might have just found this domain after 6 months on a dropping list with one click on expireddomains.

checking list of domains dropping today is better then this.

Sudo, I was researching startups for the last 12 months, and that's how I got some great domains. All I can say is that I am sure it will be hard to get good ex-startup domains at this point in time and later. I am not counting domains with a couple of links that you can buy on BHW for $15

I had a guy scrape angel.co database and I went through all the startup directories, sites, blogs....and if you find something good that would be a miracle.

Yep, eventually this method will die out too - that's part of the game I guess - you gotta be there at the start to make a killing.

There are still some gems out there though, tweaking the method to look for more obscure things can work wonders.

This thread is just an idea, if you want to be ahead of the curve, you HAVE to be creative.

Copying others is part of being successful, but outplaying others is where the real money is for sure.

Great tut. But just for getting your rep up and for becoming another "Blog Giant" you are outing things that you should've kept secret to yourself or to your mastermind group.

If the Rep button was still alive, I would've neg repped you.

    Cheers.

I don't get it, you wait for them to expire? But changes are that if the domain is have decent it will be picked up by domainers who scrape droplists on a daily basis.

Sorry but i fail to see the point here.

Really decent advice on this post, well done sudorank! Using these domains can be great for both, building out a site with some existing authority on the domain already as well as use them just for PBN or a 301 purpose. Doing your own research on these domains can save a lot of $$$ longterm. Taking this guide as a blueprint should get everybody started quite easily :)

But the problem is that these domain are all still registered and by the time you can get your hands on it (if you don't want to use backorder option which cost $$$) it has gone true all kinds of listings and scrapings and the best ones are already taken again. I fail to see what so "decent" is on scraping registered domains in the hope that one day you can get your hands on them.

    I must be stupid i guess 0_o

OP it was already mentioned two times and I dont get it as well: You find a good domain of a startup that you suppose to fail. And then you wait for the domain to expire. As soon as this is the case it will show up as expired domain for everyone on places like expireddomains.net and if the domain is really good the rat race will begin as well. So what is my advantage that I discovered it 6 months before?
