Suddenly my site dropped 1st page to 5th page

yes, yesterday my site dropped 7th position to 45th position, everything seems normal in WMT and backlink etc. I see one of my competitor site moved to 3rd page as well. is there any update yesterday in sepr?
what should I do know this was my main source of income
The site is 5yrs old and has 450k backlink in WMT

Do not panic, wait and see if it is a temporary situation. If not, analyze what has changed both on your site, and in the SERPS, e.g. what kind of movement do you see, are there similarities between your site and the other site that dropped?

I don't wanna be panic but you know I can't stop it. yeah I guess I should wait someone told me it happened to them in 2008 but after 1 week everything was fine.
both of them are old he has higher PR thn me but I have more backlink. same niche so site content are similar.
I really don't see any change in GWT

probably a little google dance ..happens to my sites also..if you havent done some serious black hat stuff you shouldnt worry

your site came back yet? I did some blog comment but I don't think this related to this cause why my competitor kickout than. I guess this is google algorithmic change or something

I'm soo f*ckn nervous, 80% of my income gone, from 3kuvs a day to 30uvs..

I hope this is just temporary..

Noticed the same for one of my sites. It went from #3 to #11

Also noticed a different site of mine go from #191 to #3 and #4 with double listing

Both happened in the last 1-2 days.

Same happened to me (few weeks ago) I went from 3rd to page 30+. Since then, the site came back up about 5 times and down again.

man I understood your condition my 90% incoming was coming from this site. I am f*cking crazy about that, and they put some stupid sites there :

the same thing has happened to me two times.but what happened ultimately was it gained the original position again.i did nothing though,just continued building links like i usually do.did not accelerate it or decelerate it in any way

I have had this before and it is worrying, but the sites came back after a couple of days.

Google Dance

I've been noticing this kind of Google dance for last 2 months - happening to 60% of my adsense sites which are less than 6 month old. Some of my sites ranking in page #1 get thrown to page #19 or 20. And some sites which are not even ranked in first 20 pages suddenly appear in page #1. I feel these are different algorithms which are switched by Google on a periodic basis - but it leaves us without any clue what we should do / should not do to gain rankings in Google. All my sites have unique original content.

I have been facing similar situation since long back, all i try to do in order to fight this is, i try to increase the CTR for my sites in the serp. I click plenty of times on my links, yes with proxy.... & i make sure i never hit the back button....

Usually this solves the problem in a day or 2....

It must a Google dance...More than that it is temporary..will back to first page soon....

During this Google Dance...i got deindexed so what ?

Today i`m on best positions i had in 3 months.. Still waiting to get better

Happened to me as well. From page #11 to page #16. new website tho.
