Sudden redirect spam links from thousands of websites

Hello all,

Recently, when I checked my website's backlink profile from Ahref, I found a newly generated backlink from thousands of websites that were just redirecting to my website.



and backlinks type look like... For example,

DOMAINA.com/?URL=https://mywebsite/
www.DOMAINB.net/redirect/?to=https://MYWEBSITE/
www.DOMAINC.com/spip.php?action=cookie&url=https://MYWEBSITE/
www.DOMAIND.com/php/jump.php?url=https://MYWEBSITE/
www.DOMAINE.org/redirect/?url=https://MYWEBSITE/&lang=en
DOMAINF.com/utm/td_redirect.php?td_keep_old_utm_value=1&url=https://mywebsite/

Like above, around 3K backlinks were generated suddenly.

- Do you have any ideas/experiences about this issue?
- Do you think this is a negative SEO attack from my competitors?
- Do I need to disavow all domains which was spammed to my website?

Possibly negative SEO from competitors, but it usually depends on your niche and if it's worth it to start a negative SEO campaign.

Disavow as many as possible in GSC.

I've had this happen to my tons of times, including live scrapers who mimick my entire website in real-time. I set up a javascript code that only pops up when the URL is not my website letting the visitor know they are on an unauthrorized domain with a button to my real site.

Disavow and keep on keeping on.

I personally ignore them but you can disavow, yes.

Those look like the sort of urls that get built by the various DA/DR boosting services. Did you purchase one of those services recently?

it seems like your website has been targeted by spam redirect campaign possibly this could be negative SEO by your competitors there are chances. in my opinion it's better to disavow these kind of links.

Yeah, I've had that on my site too, obscure low quality links. Collect all the links and add in google webmaster to block them.

That sudden surge of backlinks is definitely strange. Thousands of redirects pointing to your site sounds more like spam than a targeted SEO attack. Spam vs. Negative SEO, It's unlikely this is a competitor trying to hurt your ranking. Negative SEO attacks are usually more sophisticated than mass redirects. This points more towards spammers trying to boost their own rankings through link manipulation. Disavowing all those domains might be overkill. Ahrefs should have a way to analyze the backlinks and identify the spammy ones. Focus on disavowing the low-quality redirects with suspicious URLs or nonsensical content.

Identify the Spam, use Ahrefs or another backlink checker to analyze the new links. Look for common spammy website characteristics like irrelevant content, gibberish text, or recently created domains. Disavow the clear-cut spam links using the disavow tool in Google Search Console. Monitor Your Backlinks, Keep an eye on your backlink profile for future suspicious activity.

Just disavow those spam links and build quality links from relevant websites.

Most people use these links to increase your DA. Did you hire any DA increasing service recently?

Disavow those spammy domains to prevent any negative impact on your website's SEO, and strengthen your website's security measures to prevent future spam attacks

You can just disavow them or ignore them.
.

Use ahrefs tool and check where the redirects are coming from and check is that related to your niche if not disavow them with google search console.

No, I never did not use any DA/DR boosting service on my website.
so that was weird situation

If you did not use any DA/DR boosting service in your website. In that case Just disavow them with GSC, because if can negatively affect your ranking. But make sure you take some safety steps to prevent from these issues in future.
