ok so over the past couple of months i have been building my backlinks up using scrapebox and xrumer blasts and last night everything was cool in yahoo site explorer and i went to check it today and i am missing like 1000 backlinks. has this happened to anyone else? did yahoo stop indexing blog comments and forum profiles? i dont understand what has happened here, maybe someone else can shed some light on my situation.

Yeah, I had a couple hundred drop off of a few of my sites since yesterday - can't tell you why though.

Actually, I forgot to post, my links were not from xrumer or scrapebox, but they were from another automated program. Maybe some of the lower quality social sites got booted?

Seems that this is a general problem for all the websites i have. Most of them dropped at least 300 links and my 1st thought is that m being deindexed. Pfiuuu...that's good that is a general problem because in my opinion the ranking will not suffer too much if everybody will lose a couple of hundreds of links.

They drop because it's link spamming. I found some people on this forum
who do it manually, and they hardly, ever drop off.

yes it is link spamming but how come it has never happened before?

the google update is every 3 months so next one should be march 30 or something last one was december 31st

Yep, I've lost about 300 links in yahoo in the last 3 days. I never could get a good handle on amount of links in big G ... Bing is still good.

After looking thru my logs, looks like a lot of the WP posts are falling off the yahoo map.

I still see a lot of them, but they won't show up in yahoo.... yikes.

It looks like the days of blog commenting spamming are over. I've done some research and it's most of my links using and automated link spammer looks like G00Gle has it figured. Ah well. Adapt and improvise

Back to the ole' scraping board!

I notice all (i think) of the links I did manually and a lot of the latest slow comment are still up... just the fast commented ones looks like are gone.

Ok based on a sample size of 10 domains and using 5 different linking techniques which have all been documented daily. Currently 4 of the techniques are still stable and the one that isn't is the blog comments that were made. I seem to have lost about 70% of these links. All these links were made "fast" commenting using automation. All domains dropped a few places over night which seems to be when things started to go downhill. (UK time). So either it's happened across the pond or will do shortly when the data centres collate.

This is all rudementary research and should not be taken as basis of fact until verified by other sources.

Ok this happened a month or two ago! the links will come back! I lost half my links and they all came back. Not to mention all my links from blogs are done with fast posting most still stuck, some didn't. so...

    Incorrect.

Comment spam (manual, auto-approved) accounts for 70% of my backlinks. I have not noticed a drop of more than 5%.

Don't worry about it, it's nothing. Just watch your rankings. If they slip, then you can start to worry.
