Ok folks, first allow me to say, I love BHW.

I have been reading the forums for some months now and have recently been taking some action based on the information obtained here. I hope to give back to the community as my knowledge evolves.

That being said there is one subject I have not seen discussed in this forum, and I was hoping someone here may have some insight. What I am looking for is some info on sucks.com websites.

    You know [insert company here]sucks.com.

I own and operate a major company?s sucks website. Previously I have just been doing it for fun, but I would like to monetize on it.

Is anyone here familiar with the legalities of such a situation?

To do my part to contribute and not just take I will post a conversation I had with the company by email for reference.

This was months ago, and now I figure if its legal I would like to place some adds on the site.

Looking for any insight you fellow Black Hatters may have. Thanks!

Thanks guys that is a good idea. I am going to look into that.

Is anyone familiar with the legalities of it though?

Like what if I wanted to put some adsense on the site? [a more obvious advertisement]

Another thing I was planning on doing, was putting "Powered By" in the footer and adding my affiliate link to my hosting company.

Please look into the lawsuit filed against paypalsucks.com

They were sued by paypal and won.

I believe one of the main things was you can't commercialize the domain. I would highly recommend you looking over that court file before you try to monetize your site.

    Study paypalsucks.com
