Ok, so I've read over and over and over again about people getting sandboxed and I tried playing it safe. Doing link diversity, have buffer sites and doing pyramids.

Well I've been using Traffic Travis to track my rankings and roughly 2 hours ago I was ranking on the first page for all my keywords across roughly 6 different products (been at those spots for about a week).

Just did a rank check and all rankings are gone.

To give you an idea of what I've done to get into this place.

I have a pr3 site that is about 3-4 years old. It had roughly 50-60 articles on it and so I decided to start working it again for the first time in over a year. I created 6 different affiliate product pages and started backlinking to them.

It has been exactly 2 weeks since I started building my links and I went from ~22 links up to 10.5K links. I have been primarily using SB.

I have been linking to my 70 different web 2.0 sites that have articles pointing toward my money pages. But I have also been direct linking to my money pages.

What's interesting is I just started using SEnukeX about 10 hours ago today and bam now all my pages are gone. I just think it's a coincidence, but still ironic.

Here is what I'm hoping is the case:

Not sandboxed and just Google doing its dance but for 6 pages?!.

    What I'm going to do:

Keep linking at the same exact rate so Google doesn't get any red flags.

So my question is, other then the continuation of my backlinking what else do I do during this time.

    Thanks BH'ers

I have a feeling that the sound of crickets that my thread is experiencing means one of two things:

I really suck at making a keyword'd thread title. :p
Or I'm doing the right thing by slamming the site with links.

I'm thinking that I will post here every couple of days to see what the site does with me slamming links at it. I have SEnuke going and SB. I gained 2k links in the last 36 hours. So I'm betting that Google is dancing with my site.

I know Alexa is not super important but something cool that I observed was I went from ranking 18 million to 4 million for a world ranking and I'm in the top 600k for US.

Does anyone really follow what Alexa says about their sites?

    Hey Johnny,

I know that each case is different but roughly how long did it take before you saw your site come back, or are you still working on that part? From what I've read here on BHW it seems that it can be a few week to 6 months, I'm hoping for the lesser of the two.

Happens to me every time I build a new website, but they always come back in 2-3 weeks.

Thank for the info. I'm thinking I'll be ok too then. I was just taken back that it happened to a Pr3 with age and content. I know I let it lay dormant for awhile and it only had a few backlinks but I didn't think it would completely drop out of G. It will be fun though I have to say to see how strong it comes back with all the new links :)

    Update:

I forgot to mention in my OP that I SEO'd all my meta tags with All In One SEO about 3 days before my site disappeared. I don't really know if this is hurting my site as I have read that this could be an issue but no definitive reports.

Right now my site has 17.7K backlinks according to Yahoo Site Exp.

I have been using Traffic Travis to track my rankings but ever since my site dropped the free version of TT just doesn't go back far enough so I'm using Tools4Google to tracking my rankings.

So far, all of my pages are not in the top 1,000 results. It is now 5 days since they disappeared and they all disappeared at the exact same time. This is the site that I was making money steady money from so I was checking stats hourly so that's how I know.

Alexa however has been all over my site though. I'm still in the 600K range for the US but now 3 million for the world. Before Alexa was only reporting 1 "linking in" site and now there are about 350 linking in.

I'm familiar with the G dance, I mean, you do your post 1 day your on page 1 next page 7 followed by page 3 etc until the dust settles. I ran SEnuke campaigns for all my pages so over the month I know G will keep finding links but my main concern is if my site have been severely penalized.

I can still get my main domain to show up by searching the exact name, (not www.mysite.com but "mysite" without quotes).

Does this sound like a situation where I still have a chance to come back?

    Update

I pretty much stopped backlinking to the site since I thought it was hopeless, however I threw all the urls and rss feeds that I created into about a dozen sites running Backlink Energizer and left the site and moved onto another one.

The other day I looked my backlink count and it went from ~20K+ (at it's highest point) down to ~7,900.

Then yesterday I noticed that I made a sale from the site and so I pulled up my rankings and who would have thought, the site is ranking on the first page for all of my keywords now, all are either at number 3,4 or 5. So that means I had about 8 pages and the site itself come back from the deep abyss.

So that means it took about 2 months to settle and now I feel that with all my new and stable backlinks that the site should stay ranking.

Moral of the story, don't have all your revenue coming from one site unless you own something with a lot of authority. Because this site dropped I started about 10 more and so now I have money coming from 10 different avenues.

Build your site, increase its quality, rewrite underperforming pages, continue backlinking, for as long as you still see your site indexed in Google. Every person on these boards has a website that has google danced. Hit your improvements the hardest while dancing so when it comes back it'll be stronger.

The true value of backlinks helping your site out take time. Just keep going -- if your quality isn't crap you'll rebound.
