Just to jump in here. Until I was 27 I was blowing it. Single guy in Asia eating and drinking exactly what I wanted - where I wanted.

Now that I am 29 I have finally become a bit "mature" and I am able to save 2500 USD per month for the future/to buy an apartment in 2020. Do I regret that I lived my life when I was young? Naah! Not at all!

But I would advice you to at least save 15-20 % of your online income every month. You will thank me later. :)

    "40% goes to taxes
    40% you save
    20% is what you use"

As Grant Cardone would say :D

Hehe, I haven't heard that one before, but it's a nice rule of thumb I guess ;)

How about pictures? How many pictures per article? From where you get your pictures and do you make sure that those pictures are unique?
    Thanks.

$5000 in profit isn't much, you will notice that once you reach it. Depending on the country you live in, 40-50% will be taken away as tax money.

    That leaves you with $2500.

Also you should aim to have 3-6 monthly incomes in a savings account for emergencys. After that, invest. I like to invest in stocks and mutual funds.

Invest in your business first. >>>> Everything else after that.

    ----

To reach your goal faster you should get a sparring partner. It helped me a lot to have a few people that I can chat with and show my sites. You will get lot's of useful information, because after a certain time you get routine blinded.

The mothly update was epic! Thank you so much! Your style of writing is great and very easy to read!

How do you select the products for your articles? Do you take them from your competitors' lists or research and select them on your own? Do you select them via Amazon search, and do you select them based on their prices, or on reviews, or select the best-selling ones? Thanks!

Awesome journey dude. Do you use persona in your blog posts or just post them as an admin or not show the author name altogether?

    Update

Sometimes you've got to stop rushing, take a step back and stop worrying.

I realized yesterday that I might be trying to progress a little too fast. Not realizing how much I used to be able to accomplish in a month vs what I am getting done now. Maybe my ambition is too great? But I really feel like I need to get things done as quickly as possible in the most effective way.

So far I've ordered 26 articles. Which is far more than I would ever write in a month and I'm here worrying that I don't have enough to buy all the articles I need at once. SMH...

It might be the motivational speakers I'm listening to like Jim Rohn and Cardone about making use of all your potential and doing what you can.

I literally feel like I should be getting 100 articles published on my site. But that might not be a good idea to suddenly start uploading a lot of content all at once. So I'll take a break from getting more articles and try to steadily build up my post-release rate to 5 a day. This month I'll probably try to hit 2 a day then move to 4 next month etc.

However, I'll still be aiming for 50 articles this month.

    Earnings for Yesterday:

    67d415960c9d28d13a784c5a1b927473 (1).png

    Total Expenses MTD:

    Articles: $410

I plan to just take a break and chill for the rest of the day, won't do anything on my day job or these projects. I'll get back to it tomorrow.

    ------------------------

I invest most of or at least half of my net income back into either stocks, mutual funds, or my online projects. This month I've switched the bulk of it to online projects. I have no savings lol maybe that's why I felt a little shaky yesterday when I thought about my overall financial situation.

For you, I'd recommend you buy some properties to start renting instead of getting one for yourself to live in. As soon as I'm hitting 10k a month I'll start looking into real estate as a way to diversify my income while building other sites and scaling.

That's pretty much what I follow. Except I split it 30% on living, 30% on investing, 30% saving ( I've never saved since the year started I either ate it or invested it fml.), 10% on giving. Not paying taxes atm........ lol it may catch up to me one day. I might even have to give them an entire month's salary to cover it.

For a 1000 word article I'd do anywhere from 6 - 10 pictures depending on the size of the pictures. You pretty much only need a picture every 150-200 words.

Most of my pictures come from unsplash, pixabay, pexels, and freepik. I also take product images from other retails excluding amazon and edit them in photoshop then move the edited to canva or run it through tinypng.

Solid advice man! I'll definitely build some relationships along the way and see if I can find anyone trustworthy. I've met my fair share of shady people online. I've had a few friends though from when I used to do CPA, Dropshipping, etc but those business models rely on copying other people's things. And its highly likely anyone I share my site with will try to copy thinking "its easy." But SEO isn't so easy however it's still a concern. How do you deal with that? Do you trust the people you talk with?

As for taxes, I'm not sure how it goes in my country. I know I'll eventually need to pay it but for now, all my money goes to Payoneer and goes back into the business. And apart from Amazon having my Tax payer number on file IDK how my government will find out?

I need to work on my emergency fund though. I'll set that as my number 1 priority starting this month. I have a good deal in stocks and mutual funds so until I get the emergency fund built I'll only work on investing in increasing my passive income.

I look at the items that are being bought from my amazon links and do reviews from them. I also just do general research on keywords I see pop up and sometimes I look at a few keywords from other sites.

For list posts, I look at the competitor's products, check the price of the product and reviews. If while searching I find higher ticket items with better reviews I'll swap them out. I also use newer models of items instead of the old outdated ones from my competitors.

Overall, if the price for the item is low and it has bad reviews and very little monthly searches I skip it. I think I mentioned what keywords and how I find them someplace in the journey don't know.

    Thanks for following.

Yes, I use a persona. Sometimes I write as If it's a team of reviewers or I switch to the persona. But I still don't show author of the posts anywhere. But if they check the about page they can see the persona.

Wow! Thank you! Each of your answers is a gem!

Please take care of yourself and take a good rest from time to time!

If you don't mind me asking, how many products per article do you recommend to review? And do you use posts or pages for your articles?

As mentioned by other users, 40% of taxes is huge. That is almost half of the revenue, depending on your country.

So, don't leave the tax for later... the bill will be hard to pay.

More than my competitor in an odd number. So 5-7-9-11-13.

In Jamaica taxes are about 25% or 30 at most but I'm sure there are a bunch of tax breaks to be gained. If any one from Jamaica sees this journey and have paid tax on online money let's talk.

Until I figure out our countries tax situation I'll continue ignoring till I find an accountant.

This is the inspiration for those who procrastinate. One more question: when did you start this amazon site, did you say December?

I am considering doing that. My parents already got 3 apartments that are currently rented out, which is super good business.

Once I buy my first apartment (which will happen in 2020), I am not sure what to spend all my money on. But it would be a great idea to rent it out and then take a new long trip around the beaches of South East Asia again. :)

    Thank you so much!
Does the odd number of products look more trustworthy for the visitors?

Also, what should be on the front page of an affiliate website?

And do you use Adsense on your websites in addition to affiliate links?

I think it's the Flesch reading ease score, with 83 being very easy to read. Yoast SEO plugin has a reading ease checker.

I do E-commerce atm but looking to get into affilaite marketing. I know this is a very vague question but what sort of traffic is needed to make $1000/month. Like is usually around 10,000 uniques or less or more...again I know this is how long is a piece of string but I have no idea of the affilaite conversion rates..

    Update

I've been looking around at my keywords... I think I might need to seriously start getting into links to strengthen my domain.

However, I'm not sure if the pros outweigh the cons with links. Is it better to have a competitor outrank you due to having a stronger domain and at least still be on the first page? Or is it better to be penalized by google?

Still, I might just get some more niche edits. And do some blog commenting throughout the week.

    Earnings for Yesterday:

    438de8ebc9d1f829e546d054cc42ecc0.png

I need more articles, more links, more money.

I'll order about 20 more articles this week then get some niche edits to my home page. Off to work.

I had the site since 2017. I started writing articles for amazon in December. It's somewhere in the earlier pages.

Haha I'd buy a second apartment after buying the first one. But taking a trip around the beaches isn't bad and you won't need much money to do that.

    @Shopllc answered this.

For me, it was about 8000 uniques with a 10% conversion rate and high CTR. But it also depends on your niche and price of items.

How many UVs do you usually get per day?
