I am about to launch something for the average american would love in the saving money niche.

Was thinking about doing a prof. pressrelease and submit it via PRWeb premium-package.

So should I do it - or is it simply not worth it?

Do you think bloggers and major sites would pick it up? It is only worth what people think about it, and PRWeb has its quality and reach of thousands of sites. The problem really is "Would anyone who really doesn't give a damn about my product blog about this?" If the answer is yes, you got money!

Depends on what you're trying to do. Are you trying to generate backlinks from your press release? If so, it'll probably work. If you're trying to actually get on the news, you're probably not going to get there by putting out a press release. Instead, contact bloggers and journalists directly and try to pitch them your story. Identify people who've written about similar things in the past, send them a personal note and then pick up the phone and call them if they don't respond.
