Submitting articles to directories

It is always necessary to submit articles to directories to benefit my site? I used to do it a lot with spun or poor quality articles, but now I'm wondering if I should do it with high quality articles too?

I have 30+ unique, very well written articles and I'm buying more every week. I know it would benefit me by acquiring some extra backlinks, but would I risk my articles losing value (duplicate content) if I pay to have them submitted to a thousand article directories?

If you are only interested in getting backlinks, the quality of your articles is not important. However, if you also want traffic from your articles you definitely have to submit high quality articles.
 
It's not a question of the quality of my articles, because all my articles will are unique, high quality articles written by a native English. The question is, will submitting them to directories reduce their value since they will no longer be completely unique - in the sense that they will have been republished on article directories.
 
That's possible because some people just get articles in different directories to used to get backlinks to their site. Of course, same niche as your articles is talking about.
 
Well, since this is the "WhiteHat" section, you may not be willing to try this but it could be a good experiment...

Check out the Downloads section and browse around until you find a mass article submitter. Preferably one that was recently uploaded so the directory list is half-way decent. Then just submit one or two of your articles that have some decent SEO keywords and see what happens to them.

Unless someone is kind enough to answer this question for us... :D
 
i submit same content to all article directories and they all show up on serps.

Apparently it doesn't affect SEO as long as the HTML or CSS coding around the content is different. In other words, Google spider could only match up duplicate content if you download an entire web page (with code) rather than just take the writing from it. It doesn't use things like CopyScape, that is the article directory's job. So as long as you're not posting to Associated Content or Ezine and aiming a little lower, it should be fine.

Note: His article ranks #1 on Google for "mass article submission" so I would think he'd be a viable source on the subject. :)

This is very interesting man, thanks for the reference. I have personally heard that if you are looking to get your article ranked on the search engines then it is NOT wise to mass submit them. But this article puts an interesting twist on my way of thinking...i think i will test this and see what happens to my articles, will be awesome if i can hit multiple spots on the big G with a single article!
