    Hi,

I used SpinnerChief to spin a niche related article yesterday and I uploaded it to my wordpress static niche site. It was sitting on #10 first page (using a rank checker website) and now it has moved to #20?

The content was good and definitely made sense. I changed almost all of the words from the original article, so I don't believe there can possibly be any duplicate penalty (if that even exists).

What do you guys think happened?

Uh, that's weird. I used seoserp.com to check my ranking and just before I made the thread, I was showing as #20, and now I went to re-check it right after and it is back to #10?

    Not sure what happened there..

I would assume the movement is not related. One article is not going to pop you that far down. Is this a newer site, or have you only recently begun to rank well?

    Sounds like a google dance.

I have had this site for about 3 months, and it has been in the first page of google for about 2 months out of that time.

But now it seems to have gone back to normal. So I'm not sure. I didn't even think Google dance would come in effect because it is:

    - Only one article
    - It does not even count as a back link because the article is posted on my own domain

Sometimes G will dance you around randomly there are many different theories why this is but I don't think anyone actually knows. It happens and a lot of times you will end up higher in the ranks.

A bit off-topic but can I just ask - did you use the SpinnerChief blog submit feature or did you submit manually?

I submitted manually, since I only had two blogs to submit to (both had a unique article)

A tiny corner of the world. How boring!
I experienced something similar recently, but for a site about 2 weeks old. So my instance is more than likely down to domain age and a bit of a dance.

I was on the first page, position 5 for a keyword. I then submitted a very well spun article (75% uniqueness) to a dozen or so directories, and updated my own website by adding another page. (the page wasn't the same article I had just submitted)

Anyway, the next day I went down to #23, then next day #20, then #17, and now I'm back up to the first page but a little lower down than I was before.

One of many possibilities that I'm thinking might have caused it was:

1, submitting my spun article to dozens of directories. I had submitted this same article to dozens of directories a couple of days previous.

and, 2, the new page I created on my website was very very slightly off topic and wasn't in keeping with the exact phrase I was trying to rank for. This may have messed up keyword density somewhat and the search engines had to re-evaluate where to place my site.

I really don't know. But in many ways, I really don't care.

I didn't panic when it dropped in rankings, mainly because I knew it was a new site.

I continued to build links at the same rate, and had a new article created that I could submit to directories again.

I did this, and like I said, I'm back on page one.

I read this often in the forum and its pretty true...

    Just keep building links.

^ what he said. Whenever I change something from my site, it bounces for a few days then resumes normalcy.

I've had a site go from page 2, do an article or bookmark blast, drop for 4-5 weeks to page 50, then bounce back at #2 page 1.

Dont worry about it, build something else in your downtime and stop panicking.
